    SK Flatnose

My experience with both is limited to just 100 rnds of the same lot of each, so two boxes of Rifle Match and two boxes of Flatnose match. I'm still in the ammo/lot testing phase with my Bergara B14R, so a small sample size. In this limited testing I found Flatnose Match (henceforth referred to...

    Astronomy telescope question

Going to some star parties with the local astronomy club is a great idea, you'll get to check out a number of different types of telescopes and it will give you an idea of what to expect with amateur equipment. That said, my recommendation for a beginner that doesn't want a computerized scope...

Rifle Scopes XTR II and SWFA 10x glass comparisons?

I appreciate the input guys. Sounds like the XTR is at least on par with if not better than the SWFA. I know not to expect glass like my Razors but the SWFA (and the XTR that may replace it) is a backup scope for me and gets bounced around to various rifles before they get something permanent...

Rifle Scopes XTR II and SWFA 10x glass comparisons?

Hoping a few of y'all have owned both and can make a comparison. I currently have an SWFA fixed 10x (non-HD model) and I'm considering replacing it with an XTR II 3-15x50, mostly because I like the additional features of the XTR II. Obviously I gain things like 10 mil turrets, zero stop, side...

Rifle Scopes Razor 4.5-27x56 Butler Creek Covers

Tenebraex and aadland are very nice and expensive. Vortex defender caps are marginally more expensive than Butler Creek and better by a mile. Do yourself a favor, skip BC and go defenders on a budget or spring for the really nice caps.

Rifle Scopes 35mm Rings Seekins or ARC?

Seekins is good, ARC is better

    Expectations

I could cherry pick a half dozen groups from my Bergara measuring in the .1s and .2s ctc at 50 yards and perhaps make you think that is normal for the rifle. Fact is though that it’s “just” consistently sub-moa with good ammo. For an $850 rifle I’m happy with that. To get significantly better...

Member Link Up Southern Utah shooting ranges?

Howdy y'all! I'm taking a short trip to Zion NP next week, staying in Springdale. I'll be driving down from SLC on the morning of the 23rd (Tuesday) and I'll be there several hours before I can check into the hotel (but probably after all the parking in the park is taken up) so I'm thinking up...

Bergara B-14R Range Report and Assessment

Sign up for an in stock notification at Bergara's website. About 6 weeks ago they showed mags in stock. I had just ordered the gun and figured I'd wait until other dealers had them in stock for less than MSRP. About 2 days later they were OOS on Bergara's website and dealers never got any...

    6X5 Thread V5.0 *new 1/1/21*

Thank you! I'm very pleased with the gun so far, especially for the price. I couldn't justify the cost of a Vudoo to myself and this gun, while not as accurate on average as the Vudoos I see here it does offer consistent sub-moa groups with good ammo and that's good enough for my purposes with...

    6X5 Thread V5.0 *new 1/1/21*

My submission from my relatively new Bergara B14R. I've had the gun for about a month and have enjoyed testing lots of different ammo. This target was shot at 50 yards from a bench, bipod at the front and bag at the rear. Midas + was the ammo. I've shot some SK Pistol Match special that shot...

    NRL22 build needs glass

Have a couple Razors on centerfire guns and was thinking I’d go with a Vortex for my new B14R trainer. I decided on an Athlon ETR as it is in the price range I’m shopping, has a good reticle, parallax to 25yds, reportedly very good glass, and quite importantly 32 mils of elevation. This...
