    Rangefinders

I have a Leica 1600 and it is a great range finder. I have not been able to get it to read 2K, but have had 1998/9 many times. These readings were against a sagebrush hillside in low light.

    IMR 8208 vs . 175 SMK 308 ?

In my 223 bolt gun, with a 28" tube, I got 25 fps more with 8208 than Varget. It was also .5gr less powder.

What's a good number for vertical?

I think people get too wrapped around the axle about load development. I load develop by 5 shot groups, a 10th grain apart, at 100 yards. Once I narrow the load down to 2 charges, then I shoot 10 shot groups with those 2 charges at 200 yards. When I settle on a load, I chrono it to get a MV...

recommendations for a good powder measure?

My vote goes to the Redding BR3. Works very well, regardless of which kind of powder you are throwing!

    Sinclair meplat trimmer = junk?

This morning I ordered a Hoover Meplat trimming tool. I think it will be a good one. I have a Montour County now, but the Hoover has a hand-crank and should make it much faster and cleaner. Meplat Trimmer

    .308 loads for 1:12 twist 26" bbl

As pointed out here, every gun is different. I have had great luck with 155gr A-Max's and varget. You will have to try different things and see what works for your particular gun.

Bushnell fusion 1600 bino or the new one miles

Just bought a pair of Swarovski 10 x 42 EL Range bino's last night. These are high $ (I was able to save enough Cabelas Bucks to pay for them) but worth the price. Haven't gotten to try them in full daylight, but have consistently ranged over 2K yards with them this morning. I'm expecting to...

    a little help ples

I get a good 200 yard zero and then shoot at 900 yards (your 745m is ok, but further would be better). I make scope elevation adjustments until my bullet strikes are at the correct elevation and then adjust the MV in the Kestrel until the meter gives me the elevation reading that matches what's...

    300 Blackout Brass Life

Does anybody have an idea about how many times 300BLK brass can be reloaded? I have both a gas gun and a bolt gun. At this time, all my brass is AAC. I have never "made" brass from 223 cases. PS I should mention I only shoot these guns sub-sonic.

    presses for 338 lapua mag?

I use a Hornady L-n-L press for my 338 LM. It works great, and the bushing system is hard to beat.

Nosler Competition bullets....as good a Sierra?

I have had great luck with 77gr in my 223 bolt gun. I also weighed and measured a bunch of them and they seem very consistent.

Setting up the 4500NV Kestrel with Applied Ballistics or Horus ATRAG

I also want to know if it's going to worth it to replace my Horus with the AB model. The Horus model has worked great for me over the past couple of years, but I'm always trying to keep up with the latest and greatest!!!! Thanks ahead for any info! Jim

Any Horus Vs Applied Ballistic kestrel review yet???

I too am interested in a comparison. I have been running the Horus for almost 2 years and am wondering if it is going to be worth "up-grading" to the new AB model. The Horus has been a great product for me!!!

    338 Lapua & 300gr Sierra Match King

I have had very good luck with 90gr's of RL-25! I didn't try Retumbo, but didn't have any luck with H1000 or RL-19.

    Read it...and weep!

I have done a lot of business with Bruno's over the past few years, but am re-thinking doing any more with them. I feel that they are taking advantage of the current situation!!! Their prices on reloading supplies is out of line!!! They are going the way of Cheaper Than Dirt.

Clean between strings when load developing?

Twoboxer...no disrespect, but I don't think round robin is a good way to go. Each load is going to foul differently, so you need to shoot all of one load before moving on to the next.
