Vudoo Gun Works V-22 Rimfire Bolt Action

I love the JAE chassis. A guy let me shoot his rifle at the local public range one day and it was in this chassis. If I recall correctly it was a 6 Dasher and he was fire forming loads. The thing fit me like a glove. After that a JAE chassis was on my wish list of things to own. I was...

Vudoo Gun Works V-22 Rimfire Bolt Action

I wasn't aware that BAT made a 700 footprint action. The thing that I would want would be a bolt throw that is sized appropriately for the cartridge being shot. I wouldn't want a .308 length stroke to load and eject a Vartarg or Hornet sized cartridge. Maybe the BAT action can be built to...

Vudoo Gun Works V-22 Rimfire Bolt Action

I'll add my name to the list of people who would be interested in a certerfire action designed round the 17 HH or 20 Vartarg. I'd really like to do a build in both of these chamberings, but don't see an action available that would allow me to use existing stocks in my garage inventory. I would...

    My V-22 is in!

Purely aesthetics. I like uncoated barrels in black chassis. To me it just looks better than a completely black rig. I actually wanted the action uncoated as well, but VGW said that you can't get it that way. They also said that an unfinished action wouldn't last as long.

    My V-22 is in!

I can't provide a good analysis on the rifle's accuracy at this time as I've shot nothing but cheap ammo through it for the first several months that I've owned it. I have been shooting my KYL rack mostly with my wife and kids, and those outings haven't given me much opportunity to really...

Vudoo Piccatiney Rail - Which One?

Which Vudoo rail MOA will allow you to shoot targets from 25 to 300 yards? The scope being used has 20 MRADs of adjustment. Thanks in advance for the replies.

Is it dangerous to shoot 3/8" steel plates with a 22 RF?

I think that I can mitigate a lot of the risk by purchasing the thinner plates. If the plate gets deflected/moved by the bullet impact, it is much less likely to reflect anything back toward the shooter.

Is it dangerous to shoot 3/8" steel plates with a 22 RF?

Thanks for that Niles. I wouldn't do 7 yards. Way too close for my comfort. It would be more like 15. and yes, it is AR500 steel, so the surface is completely flat and smooth.

Is it dangerous to shoot 3/8" steel plates with a 22 RF?

I bought my wife a Walther P22 to learn how to operate a handgun for self protection in the event that I'm not home. I have an 8" plate for my 308 that is 3/8" thick AR500 steel. I was thinking about using it for practice with this handgun, but I am wondering if it could be dangerous at...

Vudoo Gun Works V-22 Rimfire Bolt Action

Bummer. Oh well, my wife said that she wants a rifle, perhaps she can get the 17Hm2. Then we would have both. Thanks for the reply.

Vudoo Gun Works V-22 Rimfire Bolt Action

Any chance you'll be selling prefit barrels and an action wrench to enable a switch-barrel rig? Or does the V22 action stamp preclude such a thing?

Why not shoot cheap ammo for practice?

I think that the majority are saying to get out of the kiddy pool and shoot better ammunition. Fair enough guys. Thanks for your input. I'll see what I can do with better ammo in this rig. It should be interesting at the very least, and educational for certain.

Why not shoot cheap ammo for practice?

I've got 500 rounds of CCI SV to go to next. Right now where I shoot I'm limited to a little over 50 yards. That's another reason why I haven't shot the good stuff yet. On my next trip out I may take the CCI and see if the 3/4", 1/2" and 1/4" plate hit percentages go up significantly.

Why not shoot cheap ammo for practice?

I get this question, and honestly I'm surprised that it took this long to show up. Look, I intend to shoot good ammo out of my rifle. I have it in hand as I type this. I simply wanted to get some trigger time in on it working on fundamentals and getting consistent results. I think that...

Why not shoot cheap ammo for practice?

That makes sense to me. My wife shoots my rig at the 1" target, and connects on average 7 out of 10 shots. So, the hit percentage is different for her than it is for me. Perhaps this ammo is better than 2 MOA. It may be that my current level of skill is only 2 MOA with this rifle/ammo...

Why not shoot cheap ammo for practice?

Let me put a little context to the question. I built a .308 several years ago when I gained an interest in long range/PRS type shooting. I had a Remington 700 SA trued by a gunsmith and had him install a HV Bartlein barrel on it. I installed the barreled action into an XLR Element chassis...

Why not shoot cheap ammo for practice?

I've taken my Vudoo V-22 out 3 times now to shoot targets in the desert. The first time out was to zero the scope and plink at relatively large plates at 50 yards. The last 2 times out have been with my wife to shoot at a KYL rack whose plates range in size from 2' - 1/4' in 1/4' increments...

Vudoo Gun Works V-22 Rimfire Bolt Action

Here's my baby. I'm proud of this rig. I absolutely love it! Vudoo V-22 with a Bartlein Barrel, MTU contour at 20" XLR Carbon Chassis with a folding stock USO LR-17 optic in Vortex rings Jewel Trigger Harris bipod I stole all the parts from my .223 rig. Now all that I need is a can...

Which Atlas Bipod for AR .22?

The Atlas showed up today. It's definitely a nice piece of gear. It is clearly well made and versatile. I know it's going on my son's JP Precision AR .22, but it is not overkill for that application IMO. I'm pretty sure it will find its way onto my centerfire rifle as well. The Harris seems...
