New Lapua brass bullet seating tension

It doesn't appear as though the extra tension affected the bullets at all due to it being consistent across all cases. I pulled the 4th shot in the second pic. I knew the second it broke. Looks like it started opening up at 41.7 so I'll probably load in the middle of 41.1 and 41.4 and call it a...

New Lapua brass bullet seating tension

The dry neck lube worked and the seating pressure was less.

New Lapua brass bullet seating tension

Yeah I don't have a choice there, I have to do it that way - I have 50 pieces of brass with powder in them already.

New Lapua brass bullet seating tension

So I loaded some new Lapua brass to test in 6.5 CM. I ran them through a Redding FL bushing die to get the necks uniform. I then chamfered and deburred. When seating the bullets I noticed it took significantly more pressure to seat the bullet compared to the 50 pieces of Hornady brass I loaded...

Rifle Scopes New Scope for Ruger Precision in 6.5 CM

I have a couple gen 1 PSTs, a xtr II, and a bushnell tactical elite HDMR I believe. Out of those the best glass is the Bushnell, the best zero stop the Vortex, the reticle are a wash IMO but the Burris has the best turrets to me. It helps that it has more travel then the older PSTs at 25 MRAD...

    Definition of "Processed" ?

If loading for accuracy I'd do everything. I don't really shoot any of my ARs for accuracy but I have and if I do I do the same process I do on .308/6.5/.338. Essentially: deprime, throw in tumbler, size, throw back in tumbler, clean and uniform primer pockets, trim, chamfer/deburr, prime...

    Definition of "Processed" ?

I've purchased processed brass and processed it myself. I've never seen it chamfered and deburred. I'm loading .223 primarily as bulk ammo on a Dillon 650. For plinking, rapid fire, and all around fun I'm not loading sub MOA ammo. As such I don't even bother to clean primer pockets or...

Switching from Hornady to Lapua brass 6.5CM

Appreciate the input. Tomorrow or Sunday I'll test 41.1/41.4/41.7/42.0/42.3/42.6 and post he results. I had decent results with H brass at 42.2 and was going to test seating depth when I ran into issues. I found the low(ish) load at 41.6 ~2650 pretty quick and it worked well so I kind of just...

    Chargemaster 1500 Quirks

I'm not fancy, so I just use a mcdonalds straw - they work. I calibrate mine every time I use it. It also helps if you power it on and leave it on before using. If you notice it start to drift at all it's usually a draft in the room. if you move the plastic cover over while dispensing you will...

Switching from Hornady to Lapua brass 6.5CM

Thanks. I was testing a higher node at 42.2 and going higher when I had some brass issues. So the last couple times out I just shot a couple hundred at a load I know shoots well it’s the low node for sure though.

Switching from Hornady to Lapua brass 6.5CM

My current load with H brass is 41.6 of IMR 4451 and it shoots well. I picked up 200 pieces of Lapua brass and I know it's about 2.Xg less capacity. Has anyone that made the switch found out about how much less power it takes to get a comparable load with switching? I know I have to test but...

Trigger control with pistol grip on rifle

Good info. When I wrap my thumb it is applying pressure even though I try not to. I also find it easier to pull straight back with the 3 fingers when my thumb is on the same side.

Trigger control with pistol grip on rifle

Thanks I've seen the trigger control videos on YouTube I'll look for the one with the RPR. I'm been trying to implement what you've said in some of the videos and it's helped. Appreciate you putting them out there.
