    I've shot the Tikka and the RPR and the Tikka felt a lot better built to me. Nicer action on the bolt and finished to a much higher standard in terms of machining. Just felt like a much higher quality product.

    Thanks for your help. Just on the range question. The ranges I will be shooting on are at an elevation of anywhere between 350 and 1000 Ft above sea level. The long range I shoot on goes out to 2 miles so realistically looking to build a load that goes out to 1500 metres for the 300 win mag...

    Thanks guys. I’ve not ordered the barrel yet I was just using the Information AI puts out in its marketing. The AI AXMC data sheet says the barrel is 11 twist and that was what was concerning me. Agree the 10 twist is better for the heavy bullets

    Yes its a long action rifle but it will be supplied with the .308 conversion kit, instead of the .338 barrel when I receive it. I will still be able to upgrade it to .300 or .338 by buying the conversion kits when I'm ready.
