    Kestrel question

I have the 5700 Elite. Not exactly sure off the top of my head what it is, but the ballistics engine in the Elite is a cut above the Sportsman. If you're serious, spend the extra money now if you can. My unit boots up in a couple seconds and gives readings consistent with the environment it...

Just got this bore guide from PMA Tool, didn't know if it had been mentioned yet, so thought I'd post it in case somebody is looking for one. (tried Lucas, but like a lot of others, got no reponse to emails. Got this from PMA in a week.) Caliber specific, mine is 6.5 CM, aluminum, anodized...

VFW-thanks; so obvious now. 101, Tucker, greatly appreciate the help.

    How to find help

Sorry you feel that way, brother. This is real; I can't just toss the man's name out there. He still has this very, very old fashioned notion of self-sufficiency and personal honor. Thank you.

    How to find help

The biggest single is financial, of course. Disabled by non-combat, work related injuries (got a bad deal from Workmen's Comp) complicated by age. Simply cannot work, period, due to physical condition and side effects of multiple meds. Supplies of any necessary resource would ease the burden...

    How to find help

Guys, I have a friend who is a vet, and like most, he's struggling to get by. Is there any resource for assistance that might be available to him that anyone could direct me to?

Brake removal is technically easy, physically can be hard. The brake has two parts: the brake body and the jam nut behind it that locks the brake body in position. Ruger torques these on hard. You don't necessarily need a barrel vise or action wrench, but I highly recommend that you secure...

The logic here has escaped me despite many hours of nonlinear thought. The phrase "skeetons in the closet" denotes a hidden, shameful secret. If the plaintiffs have something to hide, why are they airing their laundry in public and therefore drawinf attention to themselves? The only...

    Where on Earth...

The health issues in question are primarily aggravated by large, rapid swings in barometric pressure. I have it down to a science. Recently had a surgical procedure to deal with that, it's showing promise. Then there's the arthritis in my back, so warmer is better, but I have heated clothing...

Agreed, but I'm not sure of the exact nature of your solution. When the "judges" of corrupt laws are themselves corrupt, what avenue is left open? Who do we expose them to that will care enough to intervene? The concepts of "morals and ethics" and "legalality" parted company long ago.

    Where on Earth...

...would anyone move to with the best chance of finding a community of decent, honest, Freedom loving people? Let's toss in the need to be near a good health center and (the really tough one) an area that doesn't see a lot of wild swings in weather patterns that aggravate a condition that makes...

M 107 fails in a firefight? Improvise, adapt, overcome...Call customer service!

Milary units are given special customer service numbers: 1(800)ZIP-NWYR 1(800)SHT-NFAN 1(800)LJG-REAL and, for when the above numbers are busy or hold times are "long due to higher than expected call volume", there is this number, to be used as a last resort in the direst of circumstances...

West Virginia is my home state, but I never spent any time in the northeastern panhandle. Too close to DC; guess some of the liberal jurists have slipped in. I'd like to propose a wall... edit to add: if my name was in the list to be hand d over, I would file a countersuit demanding the...

Jerry, I agree about GoFundMe; I wasn't even considering that when I passed this news on. Was more concerned about the situation they are in with people that don't even live in the same state, etc. Probably just as good to send a check directly to Peacemaker.

Does anyone have a GOOD video of taking down the barrel nut? I actually broke the teeth off mine using a three foot bar and a Magpul wrench....Ruger fixed it good as new, no charge, but still, that was a lotta torque. The wrench was totally unharmed, BTW.

You've prolly figured this out already. You're on the right track. It's easy and not easy..Easy part: Put the barrel in a vise; get a long steel punch or screwdriver that fit through the middle holes in the brake body, put a 7/8" wrench on the jam nut. Now the Not Easy part, at least as far as...
