    Mercury recoil reducer

    I installed a mercury recoil reducer on a 450 Ackley hunting rifle, but dont feel like it did anything to the recoil that I couldn't have achieved with a dead weight of the equivalent weight. If I want to reduce recoil, I use a brake or else I dont bother.

    My son has an AI style Sterk on 2 of his Tikkas and loves them. He prefers them by a significant margin over any of the others that we have on our Tikka rifles.

    I believe its a Wild Dog Composites stock. The stocks themselves were well regarded, but the manufacturers delivery, not so much. I believe the stock production folded some years ago and the stocks are unobtanium now.

    Those 6.5x55s do tend to shoot. Can you let us know how the brass holds up after multiple shootings? I will be interested to know how often you need to trim cases with that set up.
