    Homemade Induction Annealer

I went ahead and tried some 10 AWG wire for connections, and as I suspected, the heat issue was slightly worse with a more rapid heat build up (although even though it reached a higher peak temp after a single firing of the ZVS, it probably would have cooled off quicker). It is unfortunate...

    Homemade Induction Annealer

Eric, Do you have any heat issues with the wire connecting the coil to the zvs board? I used 3 or 4 AWG to connect mine and the wire heats up quickly. I am using the 48V/20A power supply and the 1000W ZVS board with 1/4" copper tubing in a double layer coil with about 1" ID. I am considering...

I have 3 of them, 1 on a 308 (AB Arms Mod-X chassis), 1 on a 223 bolt gun (MDT chassis) and 1 on a 223 AR-15. They are probably not as good as a Magpul PRS (take that with a grain of salt because I don't own a Magpul...just too expensive for my tastes), but they are OK. The butt pad is a hard...

I thought all Gen 2's had aluminum shrouds...it was just that some of the earliest ones weren't milled correctly and could interfer with the operation of the bolt/firing pin/cocking piece and for that reason those shrouds (and only those shrouds) would be replaced. See...

I would think the McRees FLAT bag rider would be preferable...a straight back recoil sounds more beneficial than being able to adjust elevation by pushing the rifle back and forth prior to shot.

I also have one in 5.56/.223 that I call Jack Jr., but after watching the Incredibles the other day, I may start calling him Jack-Jack. I also have a Rem 700 .308 action in an AB Arms Mod-X chassis whose name is, of course...Maude.

I have a Gen 1 and a Gen 2, and neither has an ambidextrous safety selector...except that you can disassemble the receiver and reverse which side the toggle is on...but no dual toggles.

I've been calling mine a RiPpeR since I got it two and a half years ago...Jack for short.

    Ruger Precision Rifle Discussion

I got one about a year ago, and I have been happy with it (keep in mind I'm not that good a shooter, only about .75-1.0 MOA generally, so my opinion may be suspect). Getting 2750 with 40.2 of H4350 and the 140 ELD-M, 2715 with 39.6 of H4350 and the 143 ELD-X and 2650 with 38.6 of H4350 and the...

I have one (as well as the 6.5CM Gen 1) and I don't see any issues with it...I think Ruger just went another way with the release of the Precision Rimfire for those looking for a smaller/trainer caliber in the RPR platform. With regards to COAL issues, the mags that come with the 5.56 RPR allow...

    Ruger Precision Rifle Discussion

I put one on last winter in 6.5CM, and have been happy with it...I usually get 1/2 to 3/4 MOA out of it with some better, some worse using 140/147 ELD-M and 143 ELD-X. Someone who knows what they are doing can probably get even better results...

Well...disregard all after Good Morning... Talked to one guy at Timney this morning and left a message for another...and received the following e-mail response: --------------------------------------------------- Hi Dale, It sounds like the safety selector is installed...

    Ruger Precision Rifle Discussion

I just bought two 650 triggers for my Ruger Precision Rifles, and neither of them will allow the safety selector to slide into the channel on the trigger body...not even just the safety selector alone, not inserted into the lower receiver. I even tried some standard selectors from my standard...

It should...I swapped the aluminum shroud from my Gen 2 5.56 with the plastic shroud on my Gen 1 6.5CM.
