    Gunsmithing Another Savage DBM Question

Re: Another Savage DBM Question I'm most likely going to go with the CDI bottom metal on my FP10 but I was just thinking it would be nice to use the magazines I have. which one has the bigger bolt? Is the difference in length or diameter? I'd go look but I'm not at home.

    Gunsmithing Another Savage DBM Question

I saw a thread a while back about making a "New" magazine for the Savage 10. Got me to thinking. I have a FP10 in 308 so why can't some one come up with bottom metal that would take a DPMS or AR style magazine? I already have a bunch of those. They are readily available so why can't they...

Standard primers versus match and BR prmers

Re: Standard primers versus match and BR prmers I'm still trying to figure out how anal I want to be when I comes to brass prep. I've got a bunch of Mil surplus LC brass I'm going to use and I've also got some Lapua. I'm going to start with 168 gn SMK and the LC brass and then switch to...

    Stainless Steel Media Testimonials

Re: Stainless Steel Media Testimonials I just got done tumbling a batch of 308 and normally I stand in front of a bucket of water and take each piece out of the rinse water one by one to make sure there is no media left in the brass. What a pain. I have an older franklin media separator...

Standard primers versus match and BR prmers

Re: Standard primers versus match and BR prmers The reason I asked the question was to get what I got and that is some great info and insight from people that have already tried both in their load development. I'm still kinda new to this so I'm trying to minimize my rookie mistakes. Once I...

    Removing crimp on LC brass.

Re: Removing crimp on LC brass. The loose pocket thing is what I was trying to avoid. I've bought some reloaded remanufactured brass before, 308 and 223, and the primer pocket has a pretty deep cut in it so I've opted to buy some once fired brass and decrimp my self. More work and all...

    Gunsmithing Bore sighters

Re: Bore sighters I just ordered up the Bushnell 74-3333. I'll write up a little some thing when I get it. I got a scope i'm pretty sure is junk and I'll compare it to a known good one.

    Removing crimp on LC brass.

    Removing crimp on LC brass.

I've got some 308 LC mil crimped brass and was having a little trouble priming the brass. Standard brass prep nothing out of the norm unless the following is out of the norm. I'm using an Rcbs prep center to clean the neck and to debur and chamfer the neck and to clean primer pocket. I'm also...

    Cure for Glock belly?

Re: Cure for Glock belly? I've been using a Redding GRx for a while and it works great. Before the redding GRx I was getting a ring around the bottom of my 40 cases and the press ( the table the press is mounted on) was jumping around from unsticking the cases on the upstroke of my LNL...

    Gunsmithing Bore sighters

Re: Bore sighters It would be great to have some diagnostic capabilities. My luck with equipment has never been very good so having a tool to help figure out whats wrong would be a step in the right direction.

    Gunsmithing Bore sighters

Re: Bore sighters I feel like I'm not quite getting it on one so if you guys could type slowly... If I'm reading the info right I see the Leupold Zero Point is adjustable so you can guesstimate the height of the scope and get close to centerline height. On the Bushnell the height looks...

    Gunsmithing Bore sighters

Re: Bore sighters I assume the Bushnell is basically collimator? I kind of like the idea of not having more stuff thats battery operated and I can bore sight the rifle just about any place, but.. How does the scope focus on the collimator? I'm guessing it doesn't so what do you actually see??

Standard primers versus match and BR prmers

Re: Standard primers versus match and BR prmers I sure wish you could "know" your going to get 1/3 inch smaller groups if you use brand x versus brand a. One more thing to keep in the tool box for load development.

    Gunsmithing Bore sighters

I was looking at getting a Bore sighter. The lasers seem pretty self explanatory. The other old school bore sighters I'm not so sure about. I was looking at a Bushnell bore sighter that has the adjustable arbors. It has the sighter part attached to the arbor that sits above the barrel...

Standard primers versus match and BR prmers

Re: Standard primers versus match and BR prmers I know the Match primes are a whole bunch more than standard. I dont want to be a tight ass but if there is not a big difference at targets out to say 6 or 7 hundred yards I'd rather spend the money on ammo and practice.
