    Ditch the pennies, use something shorter that will allow the barrel to adjust without inducing stress into it. A lot of guys use thick copper wire wrapped around the barrel, I use 1/8" aluminum bent to 90° and only about 3/16" touching the barrel. Galaxy S3 on tapatalk

    I assume 850 is your muzzle od? If so, the issue you'll have is that your bore is likely not centered perfectly in the barrel, so if you screw on the thread protector (that the od is concentric with the threads) you may end up with it offset on the barrel.
