    Reverse threaded muzzle

    Why is that?

Rifle Scopes What is your favorite rifle scope?

ZP5 5-25 MR4 here. I have two of them and love everything about them, but do wish the reticle had 1/2 mil marks on the horizontal. @Scotch_egg wanna sell one of your 3-15’s?

    Reverse threaded muzzle

I don’t know, 90% of the time it isn’t an issue, but when it is, I think a left hand threaded brake would be a simple solution. I never crank my cans on hard enough to worry about loosening my brakes if they were left hand threaded. But I have had cans that had to be cranked off with quite a...

    Reverse threaded muzzle

Thank you. I have two similar ones from Energetic Armament but these bottom out on the threads of the brakes instead of the conical shoulder, which has always bothered me. I have only one TBAC HUB adapter and it fits perfectly, so I am hesitant to purchase anything other than the ones made by TBAC.

    Reverse threaded muzzle

All of my CB, NT, and Flash hider TBAC brakes are red locktited to the muzzle threads. The only time I have had a problem with them coming loose when unscrewing a can was when the barrel was really hot. I have no complaints but was thinking that a left hand threaded brake would be a small...

    Reverse threaded muzzle

Would that have any impact on a barrels potential accuracy?

    Reverse threaded muzzle

I really like my TBAC system and would prefer to stay with it. Haven’t given much thought to any other system.

    Reverse threaded muzzle

I was wondering if getting a muzzle threaded in reverse and getting some TBAC NT and CB brakes made with reverse threading would be possible. Seems like a better idea than reverse threaded cans if it was easy to do, seeing as I spin my cans on and off repeatedly but hardly ever remove the...

    Short barrel cartridges

Hard to beat a 308 in shorter barrels for a general purpose hunting rifle. If the round only “performs fine”, you should change bullets.

    Hornadys new ELD VT

3503 per the Garmin. I was limited on time so I just set up and quickly threw 41-ish grains of StaBLL 6.5 from my Harrell's without weighing every charge. ES and SD was terrible but it was fairly accurate to 750. 39.2 of the same powder gave me 3257 with 80 ELDM’s. Also poor ES/SD, but it put...

    Hornadys new ELD VT

Finally got the 22 GT out today with some 62 ELDVT’s. Only running a 22” barrel but it was super flat. 2.4 to 600 and 3.7 to 750. It was definitely quicker on steel than I am used to.

Did Steiner just quietly build the MPO we have all been asking for? H6xi

I had a Mil-R reticle once and thought it was a great option for hunting. Also thought the P4 was a good one. Definitely never needed 10 mils of wind holds.

    Steiner T6Xi 3-18x56 or H6Xi 3-18x50

Never used any of the SCR reticles, but if I am shooting at the low mag ranges, it’s because the target is or will be presenting itself at fairly close range and wind would not be a factor. Holdovers would also not be needed, like inside of 150 yards or so. So as long as I can see the center of...

    Steiner T6Xi 3-18x56 or H6Xi 3-18x50

I agree with most of the above assessments. The T6Xi is a good scope but be aware it’s on the heavy side. MSR2 reticle starts to shine around 10x and up. On 3-5 mag I use it as a green dot scope. Very easy to stay behind because there is absolutely no eye strain. Colors are neutral, but lacking...

Did Steiner just quietly build the MPO we have all been asking for? H6xi

I mean it’s a great reticle for shooting birds off of power lines 🤣 Looks like another total reticle failure for a “hunting” optic. That is unless the reticle illumination is daylight bright.

    Rifle Scopes Leupold Mark 4HD

It is sad to see the poor customer service you received from Leupold. Apathy is the beginning of the death of a company.

High BC but slow FPS vs. faster, lower BC bullet question

I have found the 144’s to be optimal in my 6.5x47 as well, but I still like messing around with the 123’s when I’m not shooting past 500 because they’re cheaper and hang pretty well in the wind.

High BC but slow FPS vs. faster, lower BC bullet question

I know it is a warm load. I set them aside for hunting, figuring the brass would be abused or more likely lost. Just ran a few across the Garmin yesterday to get a more accurate velocity over my old chrony numbers. The primers, bolt lift, and case head expansion are in line with other warm loads...
