    Which Brake

I would never buy one without wrench flats either. I'm talking about my APA Little Bastard, which unfortunately has had some problems with the self-timing part of the brake. It seems to work itself loose every 50-75 rounds, resulting in a significant shift in POI, about 1 mil down and 1 mil...

    Which Brake

In fact, some of the self-timing ones seem to come loose more quickly than other options, and a loose brake can definitely change POI.

    Nice, thanks for the response.

    Consistent Primer Seating

Yes, @GrandpaDeadLegs , I heard that. Good input.

    Consistent Primer Seating

There are really two questions I have: How much does consistent primer seating matter? And if consistency in this operation is truly critical, then what is the most consistent primer seating tool? (I understand that Primal Rights has two high end options here...

Hunting & Fishing 2018 Hunting Thread - Post your pictures!

Wyoming Antelope Hunt, Oct 2018. Rem 700 300 WM with Criterion 22'' barrel. Hornady 225 Gr ELD M.

    Which Brake

Yes, agreed. I could be wrong about this, but I do see more "self-timing" options out there now than there was 4 years ago. That's not a breakthrough, just a trend.

    Which Brake

The aforementioned blog post by Zant is very helpful. I have two brakes from the list, the JP Recoil Eliminator (ugly, but very effective on a lighter-weight 300 WM). And then the APA Fat Bastard. In terms of weighing the data points, the most important for me were (in order of priority)...

@keith5579 and @stello1001: My current hunting load is as follows: 103 Gr ELD X, Peterson brass (large rifle primer), CCI 250 and 41.7 Gr H4350. Velocity is about 3205 FPS. Javelina season is at the end of February. You can definitely expect a report from me here. I've had it out coyote calling...

Hunting & Fishing Y’all talk me out of a 22-250

22-250 is a fabulous round for your purposes and factory ammo is plentiful (as are reloading components in case you change your mind!). If want to stay in the "mid-range" of prices and want to switch brands, then try out Tikka's offerings.

300 Win Mag Twist Rate Requirement

@CRT2 : If you end up ordering one, I would really appreciate hearing a bit about your load development process, and especially what bullets work well. Good luck!

Hunting & Fishing Just back from my Uvalde , TX hunt and 147gr eld-m

Good report. I've had a lot of good results using ELD M for everything from Javelina to antelope (the one in my profile pic was taken with a 225 gr ELD M).

Hunting & Fishing Hornady 103 Gr ELD X (6mm) Results?

I've been working up a hunting load for my 6mm CM, and have had some good results on paper/steel with the 103 Gr ELD X. Has anyone had a chance to use these in a hunting context, and on big game? I'll take it out on the Javelina hunt this February here in AZ (report forthcoming). I would imagine...

I had to use a heat gun to get the rail off, just a cheap purchase at Home Depot, maybe $30.

    Neck Turning: How Often?

@bax : you mentioned that you are experimenting with an expander mandrel. Do you have anything to report on that front?

    Tikka T3 Chassis/Stock Options

I have been using a Tikka T3 CTR (.308) for about 3 years now and with great success. I've used it in PRS-style matches, hunting, and general target shooting. For the last 3 years, I've had it in a Mcrees G7 with the folding stock but am thinking about swapping it out for something different...

    Neck Turning: How Often?

I just added neck turning + Sinclair expander mandrel to my reloading process. I removed the expander ball from my full length sizing die. But I can't seem to find an answer to this question: How often should I be turning the necks? Once? After every firing? Every other firing? Thanks in advance.

Is the Expander Ball needed now that I use Sinclair Expander Die + Mandrel?

I just picked up the Sinclair expander die/mandrel. Since I will be using the Sinclair expander die to set neck tension and concentricity should I just remove the expander ball from my Hornaday match full length resizing die? Or is there a reason to keep the expander ball in the full length...

    6mm Creedmoor Reloading Report: H1000 vs. H4350 + Hornady ELD X

That's an interesting question, and one that I would like to see an answer to . It might be best to start a new thread. You will probably get better responses.
