    Bell and Carlson Medalist Pictures

Re: Bell and Carlson Medalist Pictures That looks like a shooter, Caleb. I have also heard bad or indifferent reviews, so I was just curious. My uncle has one in .223 that I really ought to try out myself sometime as well.

Ruger 10/22Target or the Savage 64TRR-SR?

Re: Ruger 10/22Target or the Savage 64TRR-SR? My recommendation would be to the 10/22 due to the availability of things to improve it. Mine's a tack driver at 100 yds after a barrel and trigger change.

    Ruger Gunsight Scout magazines...

Re: Ruger Gunsight Scout magazines... After testing them, my results agree with you, Arbiter. Tons of dremeling would be necessary and I don't think I'll be doing that. Aubie, I am currently barred from selling via the forums until I post 21 more times, at that point I'd be more than happy...

    Removing stuck action screws

Re: Removing stuck action screws I'll try to get those heads off, one is already popped off so that's 50% done. I feel it is likely that I have messed up the threads in the receiver but atm I'm just glad that there aren't threads to have messed up in the chassis.

Re: I need help in IL I just had a look at it this morning and apparently one of the bolts snapped last night. I don't think that's a good sign, but now it's just held in by 1 bolt, which is surely very bad for both the action and the chassis. Oof.

Re: I need help in IL I'd be willing to give it a shot, but today I took it into a machine shop and they tried welding onto the end of the screws and removing them that way, it didn't work. Honestly at this point I'm willing to try just about anything that might save at least the chassis or...

Re: I need help in IL They're going to have to be drilled out unless you're some kind of magician with vice grips. I just had a guy try to get them out by welding to them and that didn't work either. I need someone with a pretty specialized setup

    Removing stuck action screws

Re: Removing stuck action screws Worse, ft-lbs instead of in-lbs, about 25 of them. Stripped heads.

    Removing stuck action screws

Re: Removing stuck action screws Central Illinois is where I'm located, but I'm 99% sure they aren't coming out without drilling them through and relieving the pressure. I did a bad thing.

    Removing stuck action screws

Can anyone suggest a place to send my rifle to have action screws that are VERY much stuck in place removed? They're going to need to be drilled out, other options have been exhausted. If anyone has suggestions, they'd be appreciated as I'm feeling pretty hopeless right now.

So I overtorqued the action screws in my AICS + R700, and I mean really overtorqued. They need to be drilled out and I lack the tools and expertise. Can anyone in the Central IL area help me out? I feel terrible about this and I'm very well aware of what I've done at this point, so if anyone...

    Torque Wrench

Mine has proven not suitable for installing a stock to my barreled action and has overtightened and stripped the screws. What torque wrench do you recommend for the future? I'd prefer not to spend a whole heck of a lot on it, but I'm quickly learning that quality jobs require significant...
