    Well considering the Garmin is made in Taiwan they probably get their parts from the same place. I suppose they could have made it a triangle shape instead of a rectangle though.

    I’ve had my TRP for about 18 years now and love it. Never a problem out of it and I have shot thousands of rounds through it. I have a Springfield Marine Corps Operator (original version) and a Champion Operator LW as well and they’re nice but I really like the TRP.

    Henderson Precision makes arca rails that don’t have the mlok protrusions. I have one and it works well on my Savage Stealth Evolution chassis where I have limited mlok slots available.

    Sitting around years ago assembling my first AR over the weekend in my underwear. I launched a detent and spring. I found the detent right away but I looked everywhere for the spring for two days and finally found it in the front flap of my underwear that Sunday night.

    Why are non-translating turrets desirable?

    I missed a perfect head shot on a coyote because of an accident like that once about ten years ago. I suppose if someone only ever shoots on a range they wouldn’t see where it matters. If you actually use your rifle though the chance is there. I’m hyper vigilant on checking my turrets now...

    I have both. Neither bother me. The ones that raise and lower do so in such a small amount that I don’t notice it much. No trip wires on my range though :)

    This has become a big problem for me. My knees just keep getting worse and I can get down in the positions somewhat ok, but getting up from them takes a whole lot of time and effort now.

    I have a 15 year old daughter to help with that. She’s pretty good with the Ruger precision rimfire on a 2” steel at 200 yards. Planning on pushing her out to 300 soon. Got her milling targets now too.

    Good point. And I’ll add, if you’re walking or driving back and forth to check the hits on paper then you certainly have the time to actually do the proper math. For mils, I think a lot of new shooters get put off thinking you can’t use mils with inches, or that it’s complicated math to do so...
