    I would start more than a couple of 1/10s above what others are using. I would go 2 -3 grains above and work your way down from there. You do not want a stuck projectile in your barrel.

    Is the flyer the first round from the mag that you hand chambered via charging handle or the last one where the bolt locked back ? Either of these will have an effect.

    Did the squib load cycle the action ? If not, you must have cycled the slide manually and fired the second round. Recoil and sound should have felt extremely low to have stuck a round in the barrel.

    If you are not going to be ranging just go with the SFP model. The reticule is too small to see and use at the lower powers for my eyes anyway. Look thru both and decide for yourself. I am 60 also and have both FFP and SFP scopes. Whenever I use the FFP for ranging it's at the highest power.

    My son had installed a PRP kit in his also which felt really nice when shooting. He put it back to stock before sending his pistol in for the recall. He is going to wait to hear from PRP about any compatibility issues before re-installing the kit on the updated XDs due to safety.
