Reccomend a good LPVO for my Dissapator

Trying to cut weight on an AR15, 223 build for hunting. Thinking a 1-6 or 1-8x scope. Would really like to keep it under $600, maybe closer to $400. Been looking at a few Athlons, what do you all suggest?

Anyone try a 16" 223 barrel with a rifle lgth Gas tube

I am thinking of trying a 16" bbl with a rifle length gas tube, that will only be shot suppressed. I am quessing it will have enough dwell time. Anyone try this?

LaRue Complete AR-15 Match Grade Upper or WOA, 3-Gun Upper or their SPR Upper?

    timing muzzle break for accuracy

I just bought a used Little bastard, 2nd gen muzzle brake for my Tikka 6.5 CTR. I have never used one before, should I time it with the ports at 3 and 9 oclock? I think I saw a video of Gerry Miculek timing his at slighty off center ( approx 2 and 8 o'clock position) on his AR15 ( I know a...

    Where can I buy a 6mm Barrel

Looking for a 1-8 twist for a build? Want to build either a 6XC, CM, or a 243. I would prefer a lighter barrel like a # 4 contour, I want this for longer range coyotes, Long range for me is 300- 600 yards. Thought about just buying a Bergara Pro in 6 CM, but I have a nice Stiller acton sitting...

Want a SUB MOA AR15, build or buy?

I have assembled several AR15's but used bargain basement parts. All seem to work OK, But I want a reasonably lightweight AR for hunting coyotes and such. I would be happy with a true .75 MOA rifle, with my reloads. I already have several complete lowers, so I'm thinking a nice upper would...

    getting started in rimfire

I have been shooting centerfires for many years, but now I am getting into rimfires. I just bought a Bergara B14R, and a Athlon scope. I luckily have some ammo. Usually with a centerfire, I will bed the action, freefloat the barrel, clean the bore then work up a load. Do I need to do anything to...

which scope for my Bergara 14R

I just bought this rifle and now I have to scope it. I read the review on the Athlon Midas TAC 6-24x50mm I am seriously looking at that one, but reading some of the other post here, It seems the Gen II are better? I plan on getting a 20-30 MOA base for this, plan on shooting 25 out to 300...

    Which Bergara 22?

OK Please, I know the Voodoo is a better rifle, I get it, but I am interested in a Bergara rimfire. Which seems to shoot better, the steel or carbon barrel? I have a few Greybow stocks with the bottom metal, so I am deciding on a barreled action either in CM steel or the carbon fiber. What are...

F T/R Competition How are you keeping track or your come-ups

Are you just writing it on a piece of paper and taping it to the stock, or you making some kind of laminate card and writing all the clicks for 100, 200, 300, 400 yards etc. and hanging it from the scope bases? Looking for a good practical solution to keep track of these numbers.

    F T/R Competition 155.5 gr or 175gr SMK's at 600+ yards ?

My 308 with a 1-10 twist, 28" barrel, shoots the newer 155.5 Palma bullets and the 175gr SMKs both pretty good with me yanking the trigger. I believe the 155's are going about 2900 fps. I dial up 13" for 600 yards with a 100 yard zero. I have only shot the 175's out to 200, so I don't really...

F T/R Competition Bipod placement and accuracy

Has anyone noticed an improvement in groups with the bipod mounted closer to the muzzle, and perhaps a longer forearm on the stock? I understand why barrels are generally long on F/TR and palma rifles but there just seems to be a lot of barrel hanging in front of the bipod. Been wondering...

    F T/R Competition barrel cover/ mirage band ?

I went shooting last week, in 90+ temps and sunny. The mirage was killing me, shooting my 308 FTR. Are you guys using these to help. Where can you get or make these?

F T/R Competition Where should the balance point be

On my FTR setup I am curious if there is a "rule of thumb" for the rifle's balancing point? It balances now @ about 2.5" forward of the recoil lug, without the bi-pod. Using the Sinclair bi-pod and shooting the 308 Win, I have a few pounds I can add to the rifle if need be. My whole rig comes...

F T/R Competition Starting to come together

I have been piecing together a rifle for FTR shooting. I already had a Rem 700 action, Jewel trigger, Laminate varmint stock, Harris bipod, and a 6-24x40 Varmint scope. I bought a Criterion 1-10, 28" SS barrel from Jim and Northland Shooters supply with the Rem barrel nut, similar to a Savage...

Having so much trouble with this site

I don't know if I have a virus, adware, or whatever, but when I log onto this site, it is the slowest of all the sites I log onto. Only this site and not the others. This site just freezes up on me and takes what seems forever to move to the next page or topic. Anyone have an idea what's up...

F T/R Competition Which scope reticle for FTR

Do to financial limitations, I'm looking into a Sightron SIII 8-32x56 but am unsure which reticle to get. I see a few used ones pop up here and there, so I do keep my eyes open.
