Make one a Franken14. 2500 fps with M118 LRs. With the Salmon River Solutions 5 port Ti brake reduced recoil, shooting prone at rattle battle pace is a lot more fun compared to full blown standard 14.

Yes. Start with with 1 inch SS tube 1/8 or 1/16 wall. Turn down OD to fit, bore ID to accommodate however thick JB you wish to employ.
Remove finish and rough up the BCG tail section
I have been using my own enhanced BCG for years. Fitted sleeve, JB Welded, then slot cut. Due to oversized tail, the buffer tubes are bored and polished. The old brake cylinder hone in the tailstock does a good in polishing the bored out tube.

Here is the 16 inch carbine I built for an LT at Benning. He wanted this configuration, folding front (also the gas block like the standard M16 a frame) and rear sight bases. No idea where he sourced the parts. But, I like them. Better built than what I normally see.

I run the M118 LRs through a Giraud meplat cutter. Suppressed 16 and 22 inch gas guns, never had a hog run off with boiler room shots. No exit holes.
