    What's the Go-To 223 Brass Now?

Creedmoor Sports was sending out backordered Lapua 223 last week. So if you didn't get it then you are in for a long long wait. I have been using Starline in my bolt guns. In my ARs they get whatever I pick up at the range.

    Ring on bullet

if you have any powder compression it will cause this too. You don't have to lap the bullet into the seater stem. You just need to break the edge of the stem so it does not have a sharp edge.

    AR 15 reloading

Some bullets are not meant for magazine loading. Hornady 75gr hpbt was one of them.

Savage: the Only Jerks in the Gun Parts Business?

That grit is the media that they blast the barreled actions with after heat treat. Itis a cast iron blasting media. They do not clean after the descaling. They then do the bluing and that media is stuck inside of everything. Try removing the barrels on the centerfire rifles. Sometimes they don't...

    6 ARC Gas port erosion

The thing is we did not have these problems till China dropped a bomb on the US with these CHEAP borescopes. I have several barrels your would have nightmares looking at. But they shoot under an inch at the ranges I shoot at. The only thing I use mine for is cleaning mostly.

    White River primers

Sorry buddy. I have been doing this longer than you have been alive. I have close to 5K of the lp fired out of my 45acp. Not a single misfire. Close to 2K sr in my 556. You know why WR gave your $ back. It is easier to appease an idiot and let them move on. It is not worth the time or effort to...

    6 ARC Gas port erosion

don't lap it anymore. Just shoot it. You already went too far. It should have cleaned up just by shooting it.

    White River primers

Funny thing, I know at least 10 people that are using them. NO ONE, is having any problems with them in 45acp or 10mm. Seems you BRASS is out of spec and is causing this problem. You can always tell a new reloader by the issues they have and how they handle them.

    White River primers

The anvil will be seated flush when you seat the primer. Just about every primer they sit proud. If your primers are not flush or below flush you have a problem. It is not the primer

    6 ARC Gas port erosion

take the mirror off the bore scope and take a couple pics from each side. That will show if the edge is rolled up. I don't think it is. I had a WOA barrel that had a way worse erosion in 40rds than that. It was double the size. Mine would grab a patch as you pushed it through the bore t the...

Poor IRL performance of the 68 grain .223 BTHP

Worst bullet I have ever shot. I have tried in 7 different 223 guns and none have ever been better than 1.25" groups. This is in severl guns that will shoot into a 0.2" group

    .223 Twist Rate

223 seems to do best with a 8 twist for most bullets. My last barrel I went back to a 9 twist as I mainly shoot 50-60gr bullets only. The frthest I shoot is 300yds anymore.

    Burnt brass

Don't run them too lite. The gas can collapse the case by getting around it then pushing in the sides.
