It’s not quick, but I like using a Wilson trimmer with case holder. Plus I can use the set-up to inside neck ream or ream primer pockets. I don’t trim hundreds at a time, more like 50, so it works for me.
I use a squirt of 3-n-1 oil on a gloved hand and then stir my brass around in a 1 gallon storage bag. Slickest lube I’ve ever used, absolutely zero drag when sizing and cleans up in an ultrasonic cleaner.
I also used a PP uniformer to clean up the pockets. First used straightens the PP walls...
I bought the LabRadar LX recently and got it out to the range last week. It worked great going back and forth between a 6 creed and a 7-300 NMI. It didn’t pick up any other shooters at nearby tables and worked with the unsurpassed creed and suppressed NMI. No connectivity issues with the...
Well, I resisted as long as I could, but I finally picked up a SOLUS obsidian with mag bolt face from Classic Firearms, the price was too good. Then I went to the Aero website and purchased a .478 bolt head and action wrench, both on sale.
I think I’ll make this one a 22 or 25 creedmoor…
For the cost of a surgeon, I would buy an impact. I have 3, a 737 and two 787s, by far my favorite action so far. I also have the original Bighorn sporter, surgeon 1086, APR G2, Terminus Zeus QC, and a Kelbly Atlas.
A little off topic, but I have a Zeus QC and was thinking of buying an extra bolt with Lapua bolt face for a future 300NM barrel, that’s not recommended by Terminus?
Keith at PCR was sketchy about the short amount of threads on the tenon when he chambered my 300WM.
@rlsmith1 any concerns with...
So if I’m reading this right, the chamber stops where the case neck ends, and then a taper is cut at an angle until you reach a point a distance down the barrel where the bullet will eventually engage the lands?
This is probably a stupid question, but I googled and didn’t find a glaring answer that slapped me in the face…
I had a pre-fit in 30-06 spun up for me. The data sheet that came with the barrel said the freebore was 0 and the throat was .221.
Does that mean the reamer had zero freebore, and...
My dedicated hunting rifle is a 7mm RM made by Axis in Tempe, AZ. An old school Vortex AMG sits on top of it. I think it’s a perfect scope for a hunting rifle. I would be scouring the classifieds on this and any other gun forum you frequented for someone selling one.
I have a frankford arsenal wet tumbler and 5 pounds of pins but haven’t even used it yet.
I bought a 2 gallon ultrasonic cleaner off Amazon for less than $200 and a gallon jug of the shooters choice ultrasonic cleaner and have been using that with great results.
I put the cleaner in a gallon...
I should have phrased that better, my fault. What I was trying to say was if you just have your normal chamber, not a bench rest tight necked chamber, then the benefit is uniform neck tension around the projectile. You would know if you had a tight neck because you would probably had to have...
I neck turn when I neck down cases for wildcats. I ream the inside neck as well to get rid of the donut. For non-benchrest guns with tight chambers the biggest benefit is uniform neck tension. Do I shoot well enough to see a difference, probably not, but I find it relaxing to be at my bench...
