    .223 - 5.56

Everyone's chamber is a little different, but you should be fine at that distance. I run the 75 ELD at 2.405 COAL with 8208XBR and that is around .020 off the lands from what I remember. Let us know the N540 load when you get it dialed in. I'm running 24.9 N540 with the 80 ELD-M, CCI 450, LC...

    Powder IN-STOCK thread

I have a hard time believing AR would mix powders. There are recent posts where new and old lots of Varget look different. It could also be something like RG4895. I had quite a bit of that back when Wideners would sell 8 pounders for $109. It shot really well.

H335 is a good ball powder. It was the hot ticket in the 90s, but these days it takes a backseat to the stick powders like Varget, 8208XBR, and N140.

    Powder IN-STOCK thread

I just measured an 85 RDF, BTO is 0.652" There is another company out there making 85s, but I can't find them online. From what I remember, they were making 22 Creed or 22BR ammo with crazy BC numbers. I wonder if it is their product.

    Powder IN-STOCK thread

I ordered one box to try and they arrived but have not shot them yet. The bullets do not look like a Match Burner or the RDF, as I have both in my stash. The 85 RDF shoots amazing from one of my 223 rifles and am hoping for the same out of these.

    So, how screwed are we?

ICE alone has made 33,000 arrests. I'm hoping for some politicians to go to jail but that has to get the backing of more than Trump. There has been all kinds of corruption uncovered and shutdown. That's not enough to show support? Sounds like Wisconsin gets what it deserves.

    So, how screwed are we?

Low Republican turnout from what I have heard- 700,000 less than when Trump won last year.

Is bullet still stable/accurate after it goes subsonic?

Agreed, as well as bullet quality and BC variance. A friend shoots the 73 ELD in his AR for this reason. It does great when the wind is consistent.

Is bullet still stable/accurate after it goes subsonic?

Don't forget to consider time of flight and velocity. The bullet is traveling much slower at the end of it's flight than when it left the barrel. That is where wind, etc can have a bigger effect on the where it impacts.

Val Kilmer - The mag reload scene -RIP

Fantastic actor, one of the few that I could watch and forget who I was really watching. May he rest in peace.

Opinions on VV N540 powder for 223/5.56 hand loads?

Definitely something to consider, but in a 223, I don't see it making a big difference unless you are pushing them really hard. I use it behind the 80 ELD with good results.

    223 Ackley Improved

Those groups are not the cause of ES. I can shoot 2000 MR or 8208XBR in a 1:7.5 Krieger, and it will shoot in the .3s consistently, with a 75 Amax or ELD. It has been a while since I chrono'd this rifle, but it will kill milk jugs at 1000 without an issue, as long as I can get the wind call right.

    223 Ackley Improved

I run a hot load of 8208XBR in mine with 75s.

I want to shoot rock chucks

South Dakota has prairie dogs, but you will need to go west of the Missouri river to find any.

    .223 - 5.56

I picked up some of the 75 Grain Black Poly Tip bullets for super cheap to use in the AR, but thought I would give them a try in my bolt gun with an 18" 1:7 KAK Remage barrel 24.9 N540 2.265" COAL, slight powder crunch when seating. 5 shots were sub MOA on a 545 yard target...
