.020 is a good starting point for many bullets. If you are just beginning and looking for velocity / pressure data its great. Once you have your powder close then play with OAL.

    Making a 10mm out of a 40 S&W

Dann are these club rules or state regulations? Typically state regulations refer to caliber not cartridge. For instance here in Michigan we can hunt deer with a handgun .35 caliber or larger. I won't get into a 9mm being legal here. The point is a .40 is 10mm and would be legal if the...

Berger shows 1 in 13 twist or faster. Their bullets are similar enough that you will be good. Just an FYI the Berger data shows your max bullet weight is 185 with a 1 in 12

300 WM what would you do?

I agree with Mitch. Start with the 200 MK and the 4350. The better BC will really be noticeable at 1000.

    A pretty cool M40 accessory.

Brings back fond memories of paying a $5 entry fee and being given 2&1/2 boxes of match ammo.

    Question For Lefties

I'm right handed but left eye dominant. So i shoot long guns left hand and sidearms right handed. Head position will be the same no matter how you cycle the gun. If you are tall and your nose is into the bolt you will get whacked weather you manipulate the bolt with your firing or off hand...

Federal 215 vs 215 match primers

The standard primers and Match primers are made on the same line. The primer mix is squeegeed into the cup by hand. The most experienced operators produce the "Match" primers because they are thought to more consistant with their technique. It is usually more of a mental thing for the...

    New build....advice wanted

Stop for a second. Long range rigs are very personal. What works for someone else may or may not work for you. Put some decent glass on the rifle and go shoot. Rounds are more important than mods right now. See what other guys are shooting and what will work for your style. If recoil is an...

Rifle Scopes Scope Mis-alignment on Sadlak M1A mount

Re: Scope Mis-alignment on Sadlak M1A mount I understand what you guys are saying about modifying the mounting. This goes against Sadlak's instructions to be sure the mount is fully in the reciever groove. By modifying the mounting proceedure have you seen any stability problems?

Rifle Scopes Scope Mis-alignment on Sadlak M1A mount

So here's the story. I've got a Maunz match M1A. Maunz built match guns in the 80's trying to be LRB before LRB got started. Anyway the gun is a hammer and I shot across the course for many years. Now my service gun is an AR and the M1A was collecting dust. I found a used McMIllan A-5 and...

Gunsmithing Cutting down a plastic stock??

Re: Cutting down a plastic stock?? Forget the anchor points. Cut your stock to length, rough fit pad, then use JB weld to attach the pad to stock, put stock in freezer then do final sanding for perfect pad fit. Done this several times with great results. Filler is up to you. With a youth...

Adjusting cant and drop/rise on adjustable stock.

Re: Adjusting cant and drop/rise on adjustable stock. It may be inconsistant cheek weld and imperfect paralax adjustment. Also don't underestimate wind. a 5 MPH full value wind will cause a 175gr. SMK to drift 3.7" at 300 yrds so a 2MPH change could cause the group you describe.
