I’m still shooting a variety of factory ammo to see what it likes. Hornady 147 and Winchester 140 have showed exceptional results. Hornady 140 did 0.8 MOA averaging four 5 round 100 yard groups. I want to shoot Federal 130 and a few others before doubling back.
Both barrels are Bartlein 5R’s...
Old thread I know. I did a 16.5” with a +1” gas system and am liking it so far. I will be doing another barrel and incorporating more refinements. I also did a rifle gas length barrel for comparison.
I’m not a fan of Vortex products but have enjoyed my Ranger 1500 LRF and know plenty of people satisfied with their Razor II’s etc. I think if you stick to their more expensive products and avoid stuff like their Cross Fire you’ll be okay.
I did a 20” 6.5 PRC which would run a 140 at 2,950 FPS and a 20” 6.5 SAUM that did 3,025 FPS with the same bullet.
On the 6.5 PRC factory ammo was slow. The 143 Precision Hunter chronographed at 2,850 FPS (20” barrel + Rugged 762 suppressor).
