    Anyone Shooting a 40x?

The early 40x's were based on the 722 action. The later ones were based on the 700 action. Remington 722's had a straight bolt handle.

    Anyone Shooting a 40x?

I've got several of the Japan made Tasco's and they seem to be pretty good scopes. One is a 36X that I mounted on one of my Winchester 52D's that works just fine. Also have a couple of Tasco 24X made-in-Japan Tasco's

    Anyone Shooting a 40x?

I don't think anyone is using a Vudoo or Rimx. I'll check and make sure. The 40X runs with all of the other models.

    Anyone Shooting a 40x?

I bet it will shoot just fine with the Unertl I've got a BSA Martini that I mounted an old style Lyman Super Targetspot on. It shoots pretty well. 50 yards with different ammo

    Anyone Shooting a 40x?

Your 40-x is a fine looking specimen, Noremorse! I shoot my 40X's in a weekly small bore club match. One week we shoot 50 yards and the next 100 yards. One of my 40x's is set up for the 100y and the other for the 50y. Many of the guys use Winchester 52's, a few use Anschutz's, and a few more...

    New Winchester 52D

Finally scoped my newest Winchester 52D. I used a Redfield 3200 24X that has internal adjustments, but is long and mounts on the Unertl -style mounting blocks. Made a quick trip to the range to sight it in. There was a left to right breeze, which I made one pathetic attempt at compensating...

    New Winchester 52D

Finally put a scope on my new 52D and shot it. I was shooting in a 50y match today and used my newer 40X. After the match I sighted in the new 52D and did some ammo testing A few groups @ 50Y.

    FBI Sniper Rifles

Congratulations. What course of fire do they require for admission to the Possible Club? Say if you get a chance, can you see if they still have the Remington .30 caliber rifle and the Winchester .351 rifle displayed on the wall of the cleaning room? If so, would you mind posting pics of same?

    New (to me) Remington 40X

You are right, it does seem easier to measure with less WAG about the center. .457 - .215 = .242"

    New (to me) Remington 40X

Was shooting my weekly small bore match today and after the match got a chance to shoot the new 40X at 50 yards using the Eley Red Box Tenex. Did a bit better than the Eley Black Box Match--.285"

    New (to me) Remington 40X

Thanks, Defender. Both of my Japanese Tasco's have a fine crosshair with center dot.

    New (to me) Remington 40X

Thanks, 68! I'd love to get some SK, but can't find any. I have a few boxes of RWS R-50 and that stuff is great but appears to be unobtanium for now. Any thoughts on how much A different scope would help? I've got Japanese-made Tasco scopes--24X and 6-24X.

    New (to me) Remington 40X

I had a chance to make a quick stop at the range. I was able to zero the rifle and shoot a 5 shot group before I had to leave. Five rounds at 50 yards with Eley black box match--.445" I'm wondering how much the cheap Chinese BSA scope is affecting the precision. Surprisingly, even after being...
