    Gunsmithing Mauser Part 3

Re: Mauser Part 3 It's a 98 action, an Adams & Bennet barrel, and a Fajen stock. I mounted a Burris 3X9 scope on it, and it has a Timney trigger. I painted it with Duracoat. This was a rather fun project. Brian

How far out can you shoot the 69 SMK's?

Re: How far out can you shoot the 69 SMK's? I'm getting good groups at 100 yards with a Fed 205 primer, 23.5 grains Varget and the 75 grain Hornady BTHP. I haven't tried them at longer ranges yet, but I figure if they are good at 100 they should be good on out there. Brian

Gunsmithing My mauser is coming together. Part 2

Well, the scope is on, the safety is working perfectly, and DuraCoat has been ordered. I'm going to fire form 50 rounds and work on the barrel break in tomorrow. This has been a fun project. Brian

Gunsmithing My Mauser is coming together.

Re: My Mauser is coming together. This one is going to be for huntin' and bumpin' around. I did get the bolt cut for the Gentry safety today. It's been a long steep hill, but every step gets me closer to the top. Brian

Gunsmithing My Mauser is coming together.

Re: My Mauser is coming together. I'll try to post a picture when I have finished it. Have any of you used CamoCoat finishes? If so I would like to hear some feedback on it. I'm still undecided as to what kind of finish to put on the metal and stock. Brian

Re: My Mauser is coming together. That's a nice rifle. I'm hoping that mine will be fairly light when its done. Brian

Gunsmithing My Mauser is coming together.

I've been in the process of rebuilding a Mauser rifle. I've finally got the barrel on and the headspace set. I don't have the scope mounted yet, but I had to run a round through it last Saturday. I mainly wanted to see what a 257 Roberts AI case looked like. It's a right neat looking round...

    CZ Rifles

Re: CZ Rifles I have a CZ 550 American in 9.3 x 62. It has a sporter weigh barrel. It has a set trigger that works really well. With 250 grain TSXs it will shoot 1" - 1 1/4" at 100.

    Prairie dog size?

I would like make some steel targets that are about the size of a prairie dog. They will be simple tombstone shaped thingies. The only problem I have is I've never seen one. So an average height and width measure would really help me. Brian
