    The AR15 Picture Thread

Here's another 16" 6mmARC built on a V seven receiver set with Proof carbon fiber 16" barrel, JP FMOS bolt carrier group, TriggerTech Diamond trigger (set to 1.75 LB), BCM MK 2 recoil system, and just about every titanium parts V seven makes. Just 6 LB 3 OZ - and capable of 1000 yard hits.

18" Proof carbon fiber 6ARC barrel with Rogue Ops receiver set and rail. HUXWRX Flow 762 Ti and LRA Scout bipod. Kahles K525i in SIG mount. Weight of rifle alone is 6 LB 12.6 OZ. Pretty light for a 1000 yard gun! Either Hornady put out an amazingly accurate lot of 108 ELD-M or this is a magic...

6mm ARC for 1k yards build

I live at 5000', so shooting long range is easier for me than folks stuck closer to sea level. I have no problem at 1000 yards with the 6ARC out of an 18" barrel. For people closer to the center of the earth, there's this 20" Proof SS on a Radian builder's kit that might work:

True!!! The new owner is putting a bigger Kahles on it.

    The AR15 Picture Thread

The best "one gun", IMO, is a top quality 14.5" .223 Wylde/5.56 NATO with a pinned and welded muzzle device. With the right optics package (LPVO plus RDS) and quality ammo, it is capable of filling mission roles from arms length to 600 yards. This one starts with a Sharps Bros. receiver set...

    SBR/pistol barrel length???

It's got the same wedge-lock thing going on. I had to Google a while - Hodge Defense forend.

    SBR/pistol barrel length???

That sounds like an interesting test. Now, I need Craddock to build me a couple more barrels to run something similar. I do wish there were more 11.5" forend choices to use with 12.5" builds. I've got an ancient one I'm using on my 12.5" 6ARC. I can't even recall who made it.

The 11.3" Craddock Bartlein barrel in this "pistol"/PDW really needs a LPVO instead of an Aimpoint T-2. I really like the Cerakote - Accuracy Int'l Dark Earth.

    SBR/pistol barrel length???

I am the original 12.5" 5.56 fanboy, I do believe. John Noveske made a bunch of them for me starting almost 20 years ago. With John's match chamber, they were as fast or faster than a new LMT 14.5" CL barrel with a NATO chamber. I'm not qualified to speak for Craddock , but the message I got...

    SBR/pistol barrel length???

Here's more on the Craddock DMR-LE idea with Bartlein 11.3" and carbine +1 gas system. A good article on the subject written a few years ago by two men still in the arena: https://zerotheory.org/the-le-dmr-concept/

    SBR/pistol barrel length???

According to Craddock Precision, an 11.3" .223 Wylde with carbine +1" gas system gives velocities equal to or greater than a 12.5" .223 Wylde with mid-length gas system.

    308 AR10 Build Info/Picture Thread

Another very successful build based on the superb Seekins SP10 Builder's Kit, Proof 6.5CM 22" carbon fiber barrel, TriggerTech Diamond Trigger, and JP FMOS Bolt Carrier Group. Right at 9 LB empty. Who needs a 13 LB bolt gun???

Building lightweight AR10 - VSeven Harbinger vs 2A Xanthos Lite vs other?

If you're going to go with a short barrel, you'd be much better off with a .308 than a 6.5CM. The .308 will generate higher velocities with the same weight bullet in the same length short barrel. Granted, the BC of the .308 bullets will not be as high, but you're not planning to use this in a...

    Building out new dmr

Don't you mean the Geissele MK 18 rail - with ARCA built in? https://geissele.com/16-super-modular-rail-mk18-m-lokr-black.html It's 16.5", which precludes your using a 16" barrel.

Shield Arms SA-15 Folding Lower Receiver

Exactly! You must be referring to the main pivot pin bolt. It does seem to be very sensitive to tension. I'm hoping a dab of Blue Loctite on the threads will prevent it from loosening.

Shield Arms SA-15 Folding Lower Receiver

These folding lower receivers by Shield Arms have really caught my attention. The design and workmanship are superb, the weight is surprisingly low, and the price is, well, amazing - Especially when you consider a LAW folding adapter costs almost as much and weighs the same WITHOUT a lower receiver.
