    Rifle Scopes IOR Ring Height

I'm looking at buying IOR's 1.1-4 Tactical scope. They offer their 'medium' and 'high' rings along with their scopes. Anybody have any experience with these on an AR? Which ones seem to work best? Any idea on height over bore with the different sets of rings? Thanks

If this doesn't fire you up...

... then you need to check for a damn pulse!!! If anyone still has any doubt about this generation of Americans, or just really wants to live, I mean really be alive- then they need to JOIN THE MILITARY AND SEE HOW WE GET OUR F***IN' GUN ON!!! As you can see, I'm a passionate individual and...

The reality and future of the .308 7.62 NATO

Re: The reality and future of the .308 7.62 NATO There's a definite place for the .308. A semi auto, medium range sniper weapon was just what the doctor ordered for Iraq, and it's even great in Afghanistan. There were big army sniper teams that were overrun while guns were rockin away on an...

    Fieldcraft Field Hides, Construction, Ideas

Re: Field Hides, Construction, Ideas Belly hides are fun and are legitimately in use in Afghanistan/Iraq- might add to the fun. You need: -Some PVC pipe and elbows. -A tarp or poncho. -A shovel or e tool. -The will to lay in a 2.5 to 3 foot tall space and smell yourself and 1-3 of your best...

    Fieldcraft snail trails

Re: snail trails I avoid crawling like the plague. If you stack your veg properly, you may never need to crawl. I think I crawled about a total of 100m in sniper school. A couple stalks, I just crouched right up into my FFP. Crawling is probably going to leave a noticeable amount of jute...

    Fieldcraft snail trails

Re: snail trails Tracking dogs are always on a lead. Walk them through some thick stuff, especially if it's a cold tracker/ground scent dog like a hound. As the dog slips under and through the veg, he leaves his leash and tracker hung up to no end. A well trained military/LE dog is like...

    Advanced Marksmanship Bad Habits

Re: Bad Habits Try focusing on pulling the pad of your trigger finger straight back to your shoulder. It's like having a longer sight radius, pulling it back to a farther target helps you straighten it out... or maybe it just has a great placebo effect on me.

Advanced Marksmanship Shooting in the rain POI question

Re: Shooting in the rain POI question The air dam around your bullet prevents the rain from having any real effect, BUT, a downpour will give you some good water drops on your crown/in your muzzle...

My first basic sniper school from the other side

Re: My first basic sniper school from the other side I don't know how relevant it is to LE, but Accuracy 1st rapid target engagement drills and 200 and 300m point blank zeros are killer techniques to teach guys who are new to sniping, or need something less that a full length sniper school. I...

    Fieldcraft New Ghillie So Far

Re: New Ghillie So Far Good thinking on the vented back and hat. Might also want to think about vented armpits and back of knees if it's really hot where you are- once a uniform is soaked it won't breath, and the second you start crawling you're soaked. My suit probably has a total of 50...

Hydration Bladder for Tac Ops Drag Bag

Re: Hydration Bladder for Tac Ops Drag Bag Alright, I'm tracking now. I second the Camelbak. The fancy types with quick release type buttons that seal with o-rings usually leak, the ribbed plastic fitting with the tube that slides over won't leak- just don't pull it off. I usually put a...

Hydration Bladder for Tac Ops Drag Bag

Re: Hydration Bladder for Tac Ops Drag Bag Why would you put your bladder in a drag bag? You'd have to have the hose stowed, toom and it wouldn't be nice and handly right there on your back when you wanted a drink. There'd be a lot of extra moving around trying to pull your drag bag up...
