Help me with a softshell jacket/system. I read about too many and need help from the Hide

Thanks bogey. Your feedback helps. Like you, I want the Ranger as a mid-layer, no hood. Hmmm. Just got the Kryptek Cadog. Great long arms. Haven't had a chance to try it out yet, but it's not the kind of thing I want to wear around town. Ranger is better for stealth mode. I had to get the XL...

Help me with a softshell jacket/system. I read about too many and need help from the Hide

I have the Condor shell, and the TAD Stealth. The TAD material is no doubt, space-age wonder stuff. But, I'm not sure I'd buy it again. For the money, the Condor is warmer, and I like the interior pockets better. I just ordered a shell from Kryptek for hunting. I'm eager to compare it to the...

    Budget range finder

Check EuroOptic. They have last year's Leica 1000 rangefinder for $399. I checked it against several others in Bass Pro. Leica clearly better optics.

    Leica CRF1000 vs CRF1000-R

I've looked at most of the rangefinders in my price range, Bushnell, Nikon, Leupold, and Leica. Leica has the brightest glass. Forums seem to agree it actually ranges out to its advertised distance also. So, I can get the CRF for $150 less than the CRF-R. Is the CRF-R worth the extra money...

Anybody familiar with Hornady production cycle? Steel Match 223 unavailable for 12+ months

I've used both the steel match and brass match 75g in a comparison. Same accuracy results. So, until I get set up to reload the steel match is a winner hands down.

New to Biking - Need Advise on Bike to Buy

Re: New to Biking - Need Advise on Bike to Buy I second the mountain bike suggestion. Get the best hardtail you can find in your price point. Getting a second set of wheels is also a good idea. You'll ride smoother, quieter and faster on the road with a set of slicks. Of course, if you like...

    Eberlestock X3 LoDrag pack **PICS**

Re: Eberlestock X3 LoDrag pack **PICS** Another big +1 for Ceylon! I didn't get one of the new packs, but I got a G4 from him this week. Called Tues evening and felt like I was talking to a cousin as our discussion on the best color for a pack led us to SEC football. Pack came Friday after...

    Casio Pathfinder watch bands

Re: Casio Pathfinder watch bands I don't think the countycomm adapters will work for the Pathfinder watches. The G-Shock looks quite different from the Pathfinder. I did send an e-mail to tiktox.com. The price for the adapter shipped is approx. $32. They say it will arrive in 4 days.

    Casio Pathfinder watch bands

After reading the positive comments on the Pathfinder, I ordered one from Amazon. My local REI's didn't have them, and could not find the Pathfinders at other locations. Now it's here, and I don't like the plastic/rubber watch band. I'd like to change to some kind of fabric band. Can anybody...

Looking for a bike need help

Re: Looking for a bike need help ARShuter I ride a great deal. Got both road and MTB. I think your size and locality will suggest a mountain bike. Will it be as fast on dirt roads as a hybrid? It will if you put the right tires on it. Plus, it will allow you to ride on trails. Even if you...

    Boots

Re: Boots I second the Garmont's. They fit your feet closer than any other boot I've worn. Once you get used to it, you won't want to wear any other boot.
