    Re: question on threading On bolt guns I personally prefer the 5/8x24 direct connect. You can always run a flash suppressor as your thread protector. Earlier someone was mentioning that you need enough shoulder to lock up on & is spot on. A solution is a thread adapter - haven't tried one...
