    I like the whole second focal plane ranging idea. Maybe put the ranging marks in the reticle like the old tombstone ranging reticle instead of on the power ring but more refined?

    I like the TMR with a floating dot but the one I have is the firedot and it’s a solid crosshair and annoying as hell if you wanna get a good aiming point.

    I might end up with a red dot on top in the long run but I want to fully try it out on its own at low power first. I’m sure if I can shoot fox running at 10 yards under a red light with a crappy tasco with a duplex or an old K4 at 3-4x then this should be more than useable.

    Also the exit pupil on the Ares 2.5-15 is 3.3mm on the high end and 11.1mm on the low end. I mean do what you want, just saying you might want to take a look at it. The gen2 is $499 at Euro Optics.

    I use an Atlas CAL on my precision rifles. I have an original Atlas with the free turning legs on my NRL22 rifle just because I had it available and the recoil of a 22 doesn’t make the legs walk like a centerfire does, and my gas guns have Harris S series bipods.
