    Re: FROGS Brings back memories as a kid. Bass fish until dark then wait for the frogs to start up. Look for frogs, watch out for snakes,especially those big mocasins that liked frogs too.

    Re: Options - .17 .22 in a reasonable price range. Forgot to mention earlier the triggers on the CZ452 are somewhat lacking, at least the one I own is. Lots of creep. There are kits available that will help though. BUT THEY WILL SHOOT!

    Re: Rifle barrel length question? Remington LTR is 20". Seems to be a good compromise.12 pounds is heavy for a walking rifle so if you have 500 yds. to shoot think about the longer distance as well.This gun sounds as if it would be used as more of a bench/stand rifle.Pick up something...

    Re: Options - .17 .22 in a reasonable price range. Take a look at the Savage MK11, now with the accutrigger or the CZ452. Both have lots of options and in a .22 caliber would be in your price range and economical to shoot as well.

    Re: 10/22 stock options for a .9ish barrel Hogue at one time made a nylon overmoulded stock, may still be available. Another choice is boyds but have to agree the B&C is much nicer.
