I don't disagree, but it's very very nice as is. I shot with it on my 12 lb (with can) 6.5 Creed yesterday and it was doable to spot hits at 200 yds in awkward positions.
I got 2490 fps in an 18" AR with 26.7 gr N140. That's a near max load. I tried Staball Match with no luck, really slow. Didn't want to go CFE or LVR. Not fast, but those bullets are fantastic.
Edit, sorry the 106 TAP, not A-Tips.
Why do you think roller delay would be better at reducing port pop than gas delay? I haven't heard that e.g. a HK53 or ZF-56 is any quieter than an AR platform.
If you read Pew Science's article on his Omega term, he lays it out very clearly. I was able to go through the Silencer Summit data and pull Omega values out, and confirmed the values were very close to what PS reports. Basically you measure the slope of the initial impulse, and take it's...
I'm sure I could tune it to run unsuppressed, but then with my high back pressure can (Polonium 30) I'd be getting pretty gassed out as the dwell time is pretty tiny it would need a lot of gas. Not a huge deal for me. Picture not really required but why not.
I'm also running a 18" rifle +1" gas. I think it's got an A5H1 buffer, and it's tuned for suppressed but absolutely will not work unsuppressed. I think the performance overlap would be a lot bigger for rifle gas if I was taking the can off a lot.
This is true, I was having difficulty sizing completely (hence trying the small base) but that was fixed by annealing after an initial forming. It also fixed the neck tension issues when turning.
The 7/16 tap is a very close fit there. I ordered an oddball M9x1.25 tap and screws instead, as I...
I use a similar little pump, but I'd definitely recommend using silicone tubing. Much higher temp resistance (~200 vs 450+ F). Melted plastic in the chamber is a bad day.
Bonus is that the pump can act as a battery pack for the LabRadar.
Back more on topic, as 45-90 said, you can essentially remanufacture hybrid 6.8x51 ammo for pretty cheap if you're so inclined. Certainly makes more sense than paying those insane prices, if you're set on the Fury.
Primed cases are $0.50 each shipped here...
lol
Two deer must have winded my buddy on the other side of the property and sprinted basically directly at me. I wasn't really desperate for a deer (just finished processing my elk) but if they insisted...
Just to try different things out, I'll likely hunt with 106 TAP or a monolithic this year.
This should help

As would getting a sizing die that's a little bigger, early Hornady dies were pretty small, I forget which ones SOA says are best but they have a video somewhere on it.
You might have better luck starting with a 308 or 260 Rem die to push the shoulders back, the more shallow angle makes that easier. Then follow up with your 6 GT or Dasher die. And annealing to start and probably in between, likely followed by neck turning is what I'd try if you really have to...
