    Noveske barrel upgrade? Proof Research?

I would probably put another Noveske barrel on it. Noveske makes great barrels. Not sure what an upgrade would look like.

    Super duper custom 300NM

I have a couple XLs sitting in McMillan stocks. What measurements do you need? Surgeon XL is an outstanding action choice for a .590 bolt face. I have a repeater 338NMI and a single shot 338LMI. Really love the simplicity and strength of the single shot.

    Rifle Scopes ZCO Warranty Experience

Slight necro post, but my question is relevant to this thread - do ZCO scopes require warranty registration? There is nothing in the manual or on the website about registering a new scope. ZCO scopes are the bees knees by the way. Just mounted up a 420 on my SAC 308 in ZC rings. It goes, boys.

    Manners carbon vs standard

Call up Manners and ask when you order your stock. They are super friendly/helpful and will answer all of your questions. The biggest difference is weight. Carbon fiber is stiffer than fiberglass, but the difference in stiffness will have zero impact on rifle performance. Even a pure...

choosing the right 7mm variant this time around

7mm bore is one of my favorites. I went through the 28 Nosler phase. It's a monster 7mm that will easily push those 175 Bergers at 3200+. I was even pushing 195 Bergers at close to 3200 with ease, although my barrel preferred 180s so that is what I fed her. SAAMI freebore is easily overcome...

    Gunsmithing 300 Norma Freebore Help?

Just to give you a data point - I could not get the 245s to shoot nearly as well as the 215s out of my 8.5 twist Norma improved. 215s at around 3200 were consistently one ragged hole, while 245s were closer to 0.75 MOA. I had way more flyers with the 245 that I could never eliminate. Both...

    Proof vs Bartlein?

I have owned 3 Proof CF barrels. They are fine barrels, but Bartlein is the gold standard. If you want top accuracy, go Bartlein.

    75 Degree Bolts are landing

It seems like the geometry would be very different for a 3 lug bolt (AI) vs. a 2 lug bolt (R700).

    75 Degree Bolts are landing

    Partial lug contact? That seems...bad?

    75 Degree Bolts are landing

Can someone post a picture of how the lug architecture has changed to enable a 75 degree throw?

    Schmidt Bender Price Reduction

I've been trying to decide between a S&B 3-20, ZC420, and March 4.5-28. For under 3k, looks like it's going to be another Schmidt.

Lightweight, heavy cal hunting rifle thoughts?

If you are set on a Lapua boltface cartridge like the Norma (which is an awesome cartridge - I have an improved version), I would build on an action with 1.125 tenon diameter. Something like the BAT HR/Vesper, or Borden Bigfoot LW. If you want all the performance you can get out of that...

How is 7PRC better than 7 Rem Mag?

I have no idea what Hornady uses, but VV N565 is readily available and gives basically identical velocities as RL26. It is also less temp sensitive. For my money it's a better powder all around for chasing max velocity.
