upgrading my FN-SPR w/ some new glass. moving out to 1000 yrds, and have narrowed my choices down to NightForce 5.5-22 x 50 NXS Illuminated Reticle or SWFA SS 5-20x50 Tactical 30mm. is there anything better in the price range(1500$)??

You'll have to decide whether you want FFP or SFP. The F1 is NF's only FFP scope and it's around $2300. The SS-5-20 is FFP. Another FFP choice is the Bushnell HDMR at $1600 retail.
