I'd like to kill a huge mule deer like you have up there LOL. I don't believe the mule deer in West Texas get as big as they do in your area.

Details, details
Rifle specs, distance, bullet type and performance etc!

Rifle: Gap .260 - Gap 7000 action, 24" Bartlein barrel, McMillan A3-A5 stock w/Badger M5 and Terry Cross cheek piece. Nightforce 3-15 F1.
Distance: About 100 yards. A buddy and I hiked and rode all over the place for several days and only saw 9 Mule deer doe. So Tuesday we throw our shot guns on the 4 wheelers around 11:20 am, to do a little quail hunting. We head up this trail going onto the top of this plateau, and my friend Robert stops in front of me. I ride up beside him and he says, "Aoudad". I look up on the highest ridge on the plateau and say, "Where?". He says, "Right there!". I was looking 500 yards up to the right, and he is right in front of us. I think the temperature dropped about 40 degrees when I spotted him, because I was shaking pretty good. I pulled my rifle off the 4 wheeler and shot him offhand, while he was walking up a little rocky ledge, quartering away. All I can say about it is thanks to my buddy Robert. His rifle went down earlier in the day do to a Nikon scope mount (he has a Nikon scope with a built in laser range finder).
Bullet type/Performance: Berger 140gr Hunting VLD launched at 2780fps. The Aoudad made it about 20 more feet then collapsed after I shot him. Bullet disintegrated in the left shoulder, and did not exit the animal.
I was so hopped up, I hit him with the first shot, and missed with the second shot when he didn't drop right away. I didn't want to miss out on this opportunity. I have only seen 1 other Aoudad in my 5 years hunting out there, and he was on a ridge 500 yards away. By the time I put the range finder down and got the rifle to shoulder, he saw me and went over the back side.
