I was thinking that a 1.8-10 USO would be nice on a .308 how would this scope be on a.300 win mag in the non typical style rifle the gun will have ever so slightly heavier contour. Is it enough mag for this round and style rifle? The gun is designed to be a true multi purpose rifle with a bit of reach for long shots. Would you prefer 17x at the top end?

This rifles max range would be to 900 yards I plan to use 208gr amaxs for smaller deer species and pigs etc I wanted A rifle with ability to get out near 1 k but not the weight of some of my long range guns a true multipurpose to shoot a pig at 100 yards or set up for a shot at apig near 1000 yards

If you've already got long range guns, why not just take one out and set it's scope to 10x and see for yourself? Then ask yourself "how many shots a year am I going to take @ 900 yds and how many am I going to be taking @ 100 yds with this rifle?"

Yes I will do that I will look through a nightforce 5-22 at 11 x at distance the t pal 1.8-10 is actually 11.2x at the top end s o that will give me a good idea I thinking if the 3.2-17 USO may have been a better option that's all

Personally if I had one sitting on a 300 and I wanted to shoot out to 1k, I would get the 3.2-17. Its one pound heavier than the 1.8-10, but you won't notice that on a 300. I have the 1.8-10 as I will very rarely push it past 500. I want the capability to get to 800-1000, but currently don't have anywhere to shoot that far. Also my goal was to build a true LTR/hunting rifle
