I traded into a new in the box 1-8 strike Eagle to upgrade 1-6 of same on my recent AR-10 build, but I like the 1-6, and as a close range deer/hog buster I’m more than happy with it.
another rifle , a traditional family heirloom type hunting rifle ive had slated for an optics upgrade, I got to thinking if it’s little brother is working well for deer and pigs why wouldn’t the 1-8 be good on a 30-06 for deer and dark timber elk as well as the occasional coyote, the light weight compact size, illuminated reticle all leans themselves to walking around or sitting in a stand.
when I got it mounted I thought “man it looks just like Jeds rifle.”
lets see who gets that reference, as the rifle in question is a Ruger M-77.
