Rifle Scopes 1 vary stupid scope question and 1 not so stupid

Re: 1 vary stupid scope question and 1 not so stupid

i though it was .5 at 200 so you double it every 100 yards past 100 so 300 yards it would be .75 every click...

i take it every one gets 1/10 mill adjustment cause its a finer adjustment which means you can get more accuracy cause you can get closer to the "bulls eye" or center where 1/4 in you might be a little to this way or that way do to your adjustment

Ya know, it would take less time to learn more if you just fucking read the information provided to you. Its much quicker than learning from random questioning and assumptions.

Here's a tip:

A group of words makes a "sentence"

Re: 1 vary stupid scope question and 1 not so stupid

Scopes adjust by changing the angle between the line of sight and the bore.

If your scope is dialing 1/4 MOA, then your point of impact moves 0.2618 inches per click.

At 200 yards, it's twice that.

At 300 yards, it's three times that. And so on.

Since, as has already been noted, a 0.1 mil click at 100 yards moves the point of impact 0.36 inches, a 0.1 mil click is less precise than a 1/4 MOA click.

People choose that value because (a) their reticle is in mils, and it's advantageous to have the reticle and the adjustments in the same system, and (b) because it takes more 0.25 clicks to adjust to a new distance, which many think a handicap when they are in a hurry.

Re: 1 vary stupid scope question and 1 not so stup

i was ignorant to the whole 1/10 mil vs 1/4 moa when i started getting into a detailed rifle build a couple months ago. i ended up getting a 1/4 moa adjustment scope cause i was thinking 1/10 mil would be like 1/10 moa.

IF I WOULD HAVE LOOKED INTO IT A LITTLE MORE I WOULD HAVE GOT A 1/10 MIL SCOPE.

simple errors of a newbie

from what i've been reading MOA (1/4 MOA is .26ish of 1" at 100 yds) adjustments take 13.85 clicks to equal 1 mil.

You have lots of options of mil scale reticles with hash marks.
