Quick question. Wanting to do some paper punching at 100yds with this 10/22 w/ target trigger. I have the factory 18" ? pencil barrel on there now. Was wanting to know if the .22lr's power can screw with the harmonics in the way that our full bore rifles do, requiring a bull barrel to combat this whip and poi shift from heat. Thanks.

Whip, you can tune with different harmonics tools. I don't believe 22 ever gets hot enough to really make a difference in terms of the skinny barrels or not.

My factory Tikka barrel is skinny and never had any issues with heating up and poi shift. Since it is so skinny, attaching different muzzles devices can change the harmonics/whip and could be beneficial or bad. Just got to play with it.

Now if you're paper punching at 100 yards, there's a lot of other factors for the 10/22 factory barrel than just the diameter of it. It might or might not be a good barrel in general from the factory - 10/22 lottery.

Forgot which ammo this is but it's a sample.

Try Eley Contact for a 10/22. And if you look at those 6x5 groups above realize that is a 2.5 inch group your looking at. Practice and your 10/22 will do that too.
