10/22 light take down for steel challenge

I got my 11 year step son into shooting steel with me. He is a little fella and the trigger pull and overall length of our regular 10/22 is a little much for him I was thinking the 10/22 light take down would be good for us both. Because when we get another one I’m gonna start a build on the action we have. Since it comes with different stock inserts we could switch out and get by. And it would be easy to tote to the range. Do these keep a good zero and can they take the regular volquartsen/tacsol trigger groups and goodies etc etc. thanks to all.

Takedown is basicaly resting everything on the barrel that is not freefloated ,due barel not having any conical mating surfaces for aligment its hard to expect much in terms of repeatable zero r, not being free floated barrel and non selsuported stock .you might have POI changes with different shooting positions. Its much more sensible to go with a standard 10/22

My Takedown shoots just as well as all my other 10/22's. I like your idea. I used to use it with the smaller Boy Scouts. Mine has a folder with a 11 5/8" lop.

I went with the heavy steel fluted barrel. I put the Kidd trigger parts in it with no issue. What a HUGE improvement! I found an ammo it likes and is repeatable. No issue running it hard and fast or ringing steel at 200. Running it with a 1-5x optic. From my experience I think you guys will love it. Nice little truck/trunk rifle also. Comes with a pretty cool little case as well.
