What kind of picatinny rails are people running on 10/22s?

I'm going to put one together for my daughter for NRL22 and thinking of going with a Volquartsen or Pike Arms rail but open to other suggestions.

Also have an Athlon Talos with a 1" tube on the bench so I'll be looking for some rings also.

Well, I'm not "running" anything but I do "use" an EGW base. Rings, I forget what they are, probably Leupold or Weaver on this one.

Most of my 22 rifles have EGW rails on them except the Kidd receivers where I used Kidd rails. I bought one cheap rail for an "inexpensive" 10/22 and the screw heads stripped out during install. I may have to use an ease-out if I ever try to replace the cheap rail. Lesson learened... I'll be sticking with EGW rails from now on.

I use the Burris XTR Signature rings since I want to bottom out the scope to provide all the elevation possible to dial longer ranges. The inserts of the XTR rings allow you to add up to 40 MOA of cant.

I agree 100% with Bill on the Burris Signature rings with inserts. I have tried other rings "and like some" but I keep coming back to Burris Sig rings of some type. I use the XTR rings for my 34mm scopes, everything else I drop down to the regular Burris Sig rings.

I use EGW bases and Warne rings. It’s a 22 so I think anything past a 60 dollar base and 75 dollar rings may just be overkill hahaha. They just don’t have the recoil/inherent abuse of a big cartridge to me to justify anything stronger. I’ve yet to have issues with those setups on several rimfire guns over many years and many thousands of rounds.

Strength/recoil is not the reason that I use Burris XTR Signature rings on most of my 22LR rifles. The Burris XTR Signature rings allow you to change the elevation cant of the scope in 5 MOA increments up to 40 MOA. I swaps the inserts until I have between 2 and 7 MOA of adjustment from the bottom elevation of the scope. I want to leave at least a couple of MOA for zeroing the scope when I shoot. If all you're shooting is out to 200 yards, they may be overkill. But if you want to try shooting out to 500 yards with decent magnification, you need to bottom out the scope and have to use hold over unless you spend big bucks on the optic.

I use Kidd rail and Burris Sig. ZEE rings.

True enough, I stick to 300 and under with my rimfire guns so I’ve never needed more than a 20moa base with a decent scope. Good point.

I took the cheap route I think. I mounted a Bushnell AR optic 2-7x, I believe its a 1” tube, on Talley rings directly to the receiver. Its really just for plinking with my son though.
