I just put a titan stock from Victor Company on my 10/22. overall I love it. mine has a little wiggle room around the action and was curious if anyone has done anything to fix that if they're having the same problem? thanks.

Once you get that Volquartsen action screw your action will be locked down tight and you'll have a repeatable zero. Several weeks ago I took my action out of the stock to drill a cleaning port in the back, dropped it back into the stock when I was done, and torqued the action screw to 30 in/lbs. The next week I'm at the range to check zero and I'll be damned if it wasn't dead on at 50 yards still. I love the VC Titan, you can't beat it for the money.

ive been very pleased with the feel and look of it, I haven't taken it to the range yet mainly due to the (just learning of this special action screw) but I was going to drop it in a boyds tacti cool stock but I think for the same money, this was a way better deal.

i'll have to look when I get home, these damn government computers here at work won't let me see it... I appreciate your time man, honestly

so do I need the spike or an action screw? wonder why they don't include the screw with the stock..

You need the proper length action screw. The spike could be useful, but may not be necessary. But for only $50, personally, I'd go ahead and buy the Spike. (Disclosure - I've spent a lot of money on my 10/22s)

One reason they don't include the screw with the stock is not everyone needs it. For example, the Kidd action screw works fine with mine.

Are you guys seeing a big difference in consistency since moving to the Titan? Can anyone post before and after groups? My 10/22 is currently in a Hogue overmold but since I changed from a 44mm scope to a 50mm Diamondback Tactical the comb on the hogue is too low and doesn't fit me as well as it did. While adding cheek riser pad would solve the fit issue i think I'd like to try something with a different grip and I'm also curious if the bedding block and rear spike in the Titan make a big difference. The rifle already has a Green Mountain SS bull barrel and VQ trigger and with quality ammo it's by no means a slouch, I'd just like see if a new stock will make a significant enough improvement to justify the cost. Below are some 5 shot groups at 25 yards with CCI Green Tag in its current configuration. It shoots a bit better with RWS Rifle match and even better with Center X, but I don't have any pictures of those groups.

My experience with the Titan is that it won't necessarily increase the accuracy but it will make a significant difference in the consistency of your set up. I haven't used the specific Hogue stock that you have but my 10/22 used to be in a cheap Butler Creek stock and later on in nicer B&C stock. In either one of those the accuracy was fine but it was not uncommon for me to experience drastic shifts in my zero in just one range session. If I added a sling to the mix then it would affect things too.

Fast forward to when I dropped my 10/22 into a Titan stock and my zero was consistent from range trip to range trip, from match to match. I don't have to wonder if I'm going to end up having to make some adjustments to back on zero, I can trust that my zero is good, just like I can with my center fire rifles. Also, with the free floated barrel and anchor lock system slinging up doesn't have a negative impact on the rifle either. I can sling up, dial on my dope, and go to town.

Like in the story I relayed up above, I've been able to take my action out of the stock, drop it back in, torque it down, and not have to change my zero. I was never able to do that with the other stocks that I used. The Titan stock is one of the best accessories that you can get for the 10/22.

I can't honestly state if moving from a Hogue stock to a Titan would make a difference in accuracy. What I can tell you is that I personally prefer the vertical grip of the Titan than the standard angle of grips on most 22LR rifles. I suspect that you'd also need the cheek riser for the Titan too. If you buy the Titan and don't like it, I bet you wouldn't have a bunch of trouble selling it at a discount.

I don’t know if anyone has ran into this issue but my Titan stock was too small for me (pistol grip, LOP, and cheek riser). There is the cheek riser now and I think spacers but the pistol grip was too small.

I will say it was well built and I just wish it was the size of a full size stock like a manners or mcmillan

The regular stock doesn't come with an anchor that's a separate purchase just like the spike. The rifle has a cover plate/piece where the spike or anchor will go if you buy them.

Do you offer the spike system/ stock combo at a better price than individual purchase of these items?
It just doesn't make sense to me to buy the stock with the regular anchor and then toss it.

Unfortunately we don't have the ability to swap out the anchors, but we do offer $10 off the Spike Anchor when you buy a Titan Stock. Just select it in the drop down menu....
