Any comments on the quality of Adams Arms piston uppers? Durability, reliability, etc? How do they compare to LWRC and POF uppers?
Adams Arms currently make a 16" and a 7.5" upper for 5.56 NATO. In the near future, they are suppose to come out with a 10.5" piston upper, which I'm interested in and will likely purchase when available if it is a quality product.
I already have a 16" LWRC M6A2, so I wanted something shorter and more compact for room clearing. Yes, I'm aware of SBR laws etc, but luckily I don't live in a state that prohibits this. Yes, I'm aware of velocity loss and incomplete powder burn issues...that is why I don't want their 7.5" barrel upper. I likely will not be shooting pass 200yards with this rifle, and realistically mostly under 100 yards. Also, I may get a suppressor for it.
I like the 4 piston positions and the ability to shoot a round without cycling the action and ejecting a round, which eliminates POF. I know LWRC M6A3 has similar adjustable piston positions, but take-down requires removing the rail and is more cumbersome...plus LWRC is more expensive.
For those with personal experience with Adams Arms piston uppers, please let me know your opinion. Thanks for your help
