Decided to try some extended round groups at 100 yards just to see what effect heat buildup would have on my rifle. Shot a 10 round group with around 20-30 seconds between shots that measured .947" and the following day shot a 20 round string the same way that came out to be 1.4 inches. I noticed after about 15 rounds the shots started to walk down and to the right. Anyone ever shot these kind of strings before and noticed similar results? Just trying to get something to compare to...My shot accuracy remained consistent but at the end the POI had moved about 3/4 MOA low right.

Re: 10 and 20 round groups

I agree try the practical target sheet.

At least you have a fresh point of aim for each shot, at which you can asses what is happening, especially if done methodically.

Groups also have a certain mental thing, where a shooter may feel relaxed during the start of the string but tension builds towards the end... Kind of like having 4 shots touching and then the 5th a flier.

The practical tactical target keeps this mental aspect somewhat level throughout as its one spot per shot. Either you hit it or you dont.

HP competitors shoot this scenario when participating in reduced course tournaments. They shoot at the MR-31 target, a target which represents the 600 yard stage, but scaled for 100 yards. Shooting at such a target reveals that call/strike analysis can answer your question.
