anyone try the 22 CM at a 1000 yds using 80.5 berger i have a 1/8 twist barrel 28 inch krieger with defiance action. maybe bullet a little light but with 1/8 can’t go much heavier or longer.

A competitor in my area messed around with a 22 creed for PRS with an 80 something grain bullet I think. We found that targets past 850y were very difficult to consistently call hits. It was pretty fun to shoot inside of 800y.
No need to stick to 600 yards with that set up. It will go well past that. I shoot a 75 ELD-M out of a .223 to 1150 in matches. Does it splash less than a larger round? Of course but it makes it there no problem.
Only issue is spotting splash. If you have electronic targets at 1k, g2g. Platform more than capable to that range. May not win a lot of comps, but pfft jersey boys.
There are more than a few guys competing in PRS with 22BR/GT/Dasher/x47/creeds. For the closer matches with less wind, its holds its own.
You can easily shoot to 1k with that setup, but big targets and mirage are going to make spotting iffy.
Biggest issue is spotting hits especially on ranges that are stingy with the target indicators.
I personally wouldn't run one as you arent saving much money, and burning barrels up quicker with an overbore. Similar powder, similar bullet cost ,ect. The cost savings can be had running a .223 with the heavies, using half the powder. Good bullets are still .40-.50 each and primers are around .10 each. Barrel life amortized with a 22 creed vs a 6BR is like .50 per shot with the 22 vs like .30 per shot of barrel life with a BR (assuming 1500 with 22 creed and 2500 with BR). You will probally run less powder in the BR as well, saving some money per shot. You can download the 22 creed, but that kinda defeats the purpose of running it in the first place, and with a low case fill %, tuning a load is going to be a bitch.

well it primarily going to use it for coyotes but shoot some paper at different distances. i have a 6.5 x 284 & a 6 x 47 & a 6.5 CM & a 7 mm mag & a 22 x47 lapua so i have some paper punchers . think i’m going to turn that 22x 47 in to a 6 bra .
I shoot a valkarie 75 grain at 3000 fps and it shoots great out to 1000 yards but it can be hard to see the plates “move” with the 75 grain bullet
