I was looking at a 1022 that I built several years ago. I had my smith bed the action and float the barrel. Just for grins, I did the dollar bill check and it does not slip under the barrel all the way back to the receiver. It's a Green Mountain SS fluted barrel and there is a section about four inches long that is unfluted and is between the fluted part and the receiver. That is where the dollar bill stops. Should not the barrel channel be opened up all the way back to the receiver so that the entire length of the barrel is floated?

Remember that there is a section forward of the visible receiver (while in the stock) where the takedown screw is and then the v-block securing the barrel is in front of that. The dollar bill will be stopped by the V-block.
