I just bought a Huxwrx Flow 556... wanted to test these eForm4's shipping a can right to your door. Sure enough, its legit, approved in 4 days...

So i decided to build and submit a new eform 1 sbr lower for this build. And build a 11.5" BCM upper and a 12.5" Geissele upper.

    Here the build specs

    Lower

    Spikes Tactical Spider Lower
    Geissele Buffer Tube
    Geissele H3 buffer/spring combo
    Geissele trigger guard
    Geissele Maritime bolt catch
    BAD Pro Ambi Safety
    Geissele lower parts kit
    Magoul MOE K2+
Larue MBT- 2S Straight w/JP spring
    Magpul CTR
    BCM QD Endplate
    Forward Controls Billet Castle Nut

    Geissele Upper
12.5" Geissele chrome lined CHF barrel
    9.3" Geissele SMR MK16 handguard
    Geissele Super Compact gas BLOCK
    Geissele Super Charging Handle
    Spikes Tactical melonited gas tube
    Rubber City Armory BCG
    Magpul VFG

    BCM Upper
    11.5" BCM Chrome lined barrel
    10.5" BCM MCMR MLOK Handguard
    BCM 750 gas block
    Spikes Tactical melonited gas tube
    BCM Gunfighter Ambi charging handle
    Rubber City Armory BCG
    Magpul VFG

    GBRS Lerna mount
    Aimpoint T2

I just put some Hornady 55 FMJ-BT WC846 bulk plinking ammo through the Geissele upper today on one of my other SBR lowers to zero at 50yd and put some rounds down in.

Functioned flawlessly..... just waiting for the Huxwrx to show up in the mail then I'll start doing some testing.

I also have a 11.5" piston upper i built with a Superlative Arms piston kit that is very smooth ill be testing the Huxwrx on and comparing to these 2 uppers.

it seems like an “emperor’s new clothes” situation with the ever increasing height of optic mounts.

I do like the upper, and if the optic setup works well for you, I’m all for it. Super cool that suppressors can come in the mail, I have a Hux showing up shortly.

Honestly, I thought it looked weird as hell. Ran it today for the first time and its very nice.

Super fast dot acquisition with a full heads up normal posture. Zero movement of the head or body to find or get behind the dot. The concept works. I was hesitant but I like it a lot. I was so hesitant before shooting it i got a unity mount just in case... hahaha

Nice builds! I have a lot of similar parts on a few of my own builds. Those bcm qd end plates are a great deal at like $15 or whatever they are these days. I don’t usually use it but its nice to have just in case.

In my head this was you waiting for someone to ask about the mount…

    🤣🤣

Yea it came with no direction and the QR code didnt show orientation like unity mount directions do. But I looked up some pictures and found it flipped around. The Pic was the only one I had from earlier today... its flipped around now.hahah

Yea I love those BCM endplates.

Well I finally got the gas tube in to complete the 11.5" BCM upper build. My son and I took both of them out Wednesday and put 500rd through them.

They both shot great but we both agreed the recoil impulse of the 12.5" Geissele on the new sbr lower with Geissele H3 buffer is just a little more smoother.

I brought another one of my sbr lowers with us that has an H2 buffer and there was a noticeable difference in felt recoil impulse with that H2 lower, especially with the 11.5" BCM upper.

The Huxwrx shipped yesterday so I will have it next week. We will see how they both shoot with the new can on them.

Also, we were just shooting my M193 clone Hornady 55 FMJ-BT with WC846 that chronos at 2900 out of my 16" AR's. My goal to range practice load.

Will test some different types of ammo with the can like M855, 55 VMAX, 60 TMK, 62 JSP, 77smk and 77 TMK.

I also pulled my gas piston 11.5" upper I built out of the safe to test against these 2 uppers with this new Huxwrx can today

    BCM MOD4 Thermotfit upper receiver
    11.5" 416SS Green Mountain 1-7 5.56 barrel
    BCM MCMR 10" MLOK handguard
    Rubber City Armory BCG
Superlative Arms Carbine Length Gas piston kit
    Geissele Super Charging Handle
    SIG Romeo4T Pro

I put a Huxwrx 5.56 flash hider QD adapter on all 3 uppers. All were shot with my M855 clone load run on my automated 5.56 1050 which consists of M855(SS109 pulls), new primed LC brass (pulled) and WC846 (3066 SD 7 out of my 16" Wilson Combat barrel).

I have about 500rd through the two newly built 12.5 Geissele and 11.5 BCM uppers the past few weeks on the new lower. Without a can, the 12.5" upper was just noticeably slightly smoother shooting than the 11.5...

Today we shot all 3 uppers with the new can and they all shot great, but there was just a noticeable difference in lack of recoil and how smooth the impulse was with the Huxwrx on the 11.5 SLA piston upper. Its so nice to shoot and there is no recoil and zero gas in your face or back into the gun. Also, this 11.5" 416SS GM barrel is very accurate with this M855 clone load Not gonna last as long as the other 2 barrels but for the cost, ill gladly replace it when it falls off.

My son and I were back out shooting these SBR's today for a few hours with the new Huxwrx.

My Unity FAST FTC Omni folding 3x magnifier mount showed up today so I was able to get the Trijicon 3x magnifier mounted before we left for the range on the 12.5" Geissele. I had to switch from the GBRS Lerna to the Unity Fast mount for the Aimpoint T2 on this upper to line up with the magnifier.

We put another 500rd through it today and it didnt miss a beat. We loaded our last 8 20rd mags to test this upper out at 200, 300 and 400yd.

We each shot a 20rd mag at 200, 300 and 400. Boring consistency standing shooting full size IPSC steel at 200 and 300.. effective hits disappeared at 400yd. I recorded 2 hits and my son scored 1 out of 20rd each at 400. My 855 clone load is shit past 300yd but that's not what i loaded it for so it did good.

I have my 1050 re-tooled and dialing it in now to run off 2000rd 77smk/TAC. We will revisit our hits at 400yd and beyond out of this 12.5" Geissele with that ammo.

Very happy with the new build and setup so far. Have about 2000rd through the 12.5" Geissele upper

I have a BCM 11.5 BFH upper dedicated to a full size hux (actually OSS) with almost 4k on it. Been crazy over gassed since day one and I built the lower out with an A5 but the can does seem to tame it some. Had 8.6 oz worth of buffer in it to get ejection with my range M193 loads to 3:00 but I suspect the gas port is eroding and ejection has been moving more forward for awhile. I’ll look with a bore scope at some point but probably going to add another weight to get it around 10oz and at that point the buffer is maxed out with tungsten.

It’ll take me awhile to shoot the barrel out, but I won’t go back with a BCM when it’s done. It’s reliable though.

The 11.5" BCM is the most overgassed and heaviest recoiling upper of the 3 Ive posted in this thread. The 12.5" Geissele is noticeably smoother. But nothing is as smooth and virtually zero recoil impulse as the 11.5" SLA Gas piston upper. We shot another 300rd through the SLA piston upper today and man is it awesome to shoot. So fucking smooth.

I think when I first built the lower I used a carbine tube because I had it on hand and probably was using a H2 and blue spring. I did notice a difference when moving to an A5 system and couldn’t imagine shooting the 11.5 long term on a carbine system. I don’t know what the port size is new but damn I don’t think it has to be that big to be reliable or “duty grade”.

Im running Geissele carbine buffer tube with their H3 buffer/spring kit. Noticeably smoother recoil impulse vs my H2 sbr lower. I tested all 3 uppers on the H2 and H3 sbr lowers i have. The 12.5" suppressed upoer shines on the H3 lower

My next barrel when the 11.5 shoots out will probably be something like a Geissele or Criterion. I don’t hate it enough to rebarrel already and it does what I need it to do for now. It’s mildly frustrating that it seems to hate my current Mk262 clone load but I’m soon going to rehash some load development.

My 10.3" DD CHF, 11.5" BCM, 11.5" GM Piston, 12.5" Geissele and 16" Wilson Combat barrels all shoot my M855 clone load excellent.

They are made from 100% demilled components.. New Primed pulled LC brass, pulled M855 bullets and WC 846 powder.

Was the difference from the BCM versus the Geissele something you think a less experienced shooter would pick up on compared to the Geissele or a Criterion?
I had planned on getting a 12.5” BCM raider upper for my girls 14.5” SBR 6.5 Grendel with SA piston kit. The lower has an A5 system, but I’m not 100% on buffer weight. Between the Craddock RTR barrel, the A5, and the SA piston it’s extremely smooth. She’s a very good shooter, but she is probably accustomed now to my rifles. I’d rather not buy a complete upper and then feel guilted into replacing the barrel because the price on the complete upper was so good. I want to say the complete upper WITH BCM BCG is like $700. I’m pretty certain I have a few extra BCGs, but I don’t think I can come close to that buying separate even with LE discounts.
