Hey guys, a question about what I am seeing with the above combo, using new Lapua brass, CCI large rifle primers, and loading to 2.74 OAL.

I shot 2 five shot groups for each step of powder increments. Powder charges went from 40.8 to 42.8 in .5 grain increments. two powder increments shot a one hole group (.5MOA easily) for 4 shots and had a flyer that wasnt constant, ie didnt come on the last shot or something like that, at 42.3 and 41.3. But then when I did the second 5 shot group they were MOA at best. Whats going on here? My 168 Amax load put 5 in .5 @ 100 to foul the gun.

I am weighing every charge to the tenth of a grain, and trying to do everything consitently. I dont know how much I farther I can seat the bullets out, there isnt much there, but a fast 110 Vmax would be very usefull in these parts, so I would like to pursue this load. Should I try seating depth changes? Different powder? Me? Gun?

Gun is a Savage 10 FCP HS with a Bushnell 6500 4.5-30 btw. Has about 250 down the tube.

Some combinations just aren't accurate. Sometimes you think you have a good load only to find out it's a POS the next time you're at the range. Maybe H4198 isn't the right powder for that bullet. Try H322.

Alright, I can live with that, I will play with the stuff I have for now and will look into a different powder when I run out, A friend of mine has some Reloader series stuff that I could probably try.

That may be so, but I just looked through my data and have searched the internet and I have found nothing that lists Reloader 10x as a powder for it, do you have a starting point or load data you can point me to?
