I went to buy some more 130gr Norma Golden Target bullets yesterday and all of my usual go-to distributors were either out of stock with no back order available, discontinued, or completely removed from their website. I check Midway, Brownells, midsouth, and graffs with no luck. anyone know if the 130gr Norma GT is actually discontinued?

I see you say distributor, I think you mean retailer. I would email Norma direct about it, they are good with communication. You may ask whom in the US are distributors also, usually only one or two.
I do know back 7-10 yrs ago, it was a once a yr shipment to the US, I think that relaxed some lately.
Speculation here, but I doubt it is discontinued, they sold more 130's when the bullet was stuffed in the older Prime ammo than any period of it's history, therefore more people actually tried it, which should have made it more popular.

They're at midsouth right now for $130/500 it's the cheapest decent 6.5 Projectile i've seen on the market at .26 cents per bullet. But since they kind of messed over prime i'm trying to get away from them. They aren't the most consistent thing either but my rifle shoots them well and always has. I think i'm going to try the new 130gr MatchKing from sierra next. Same G1 of .584 i just need to see how long the damn thing is.

Weird, the past 3 days they haven’t been on Midsouth or anywhere else. Thanks for the heads up. I didn’t know Sierra was coming out with a 130gr matchking either. That should be a good offering. I was just about ready to go back to a 123 scenar or 123 SMK, but I think I’ll try the 130 SMK before I do that.

They may have swept up bullets from broken up boxes and packaged them just for you. lol
I can honestly say this, you will not be happy with any of your alternate choices if you are used to the 130 Norma, look at Bergers

I’ve shot the 123 scenar with great success. I can’t imagine that the 123 smk shoots much worse than the scenar. I have shot the 6.5 bergers, but I’m sure they’d work well too.

I went ahead and snagged 500ct of the matchkings. Padom told me that's what Prime has been using in the new 6.5CM and they're awesome. He also has 1000ct of them to test. I'm assuming similar performance but better consistency. I bet they're a little long no doubt but i'm about 1800 rounds or so on this barrel now. Another 500~1000rds should probably do it. Then i'll likely keep all the 6.5x47 brass move to 25x47 and just change bushings. .330 G7 with the 131gr blackjack at 2850~2975 depending on barrel length is hard to argue with at .39 cents a pill.

Still nothing quite like the normas as far as affordability goes. They're dirt cheap and i wish i had longer freebore and they weren't so long. I'm a good 50fps or so slower on the max node compared to the 130gr AR Hybrid.

I was speaking form experience myself in 6.5x47's. My first bullet was a 123 scenar, great bullet, consistent, lot to lot also like all Lapua bullets. The 130 Norma just flat ass flew better. I ran between .585-595 G1 BC depending on speeds pushed.

Yeah the Norma does have a long beating surface, but they shoot well, and the velocity with them isn’t so bad that it makes a big difference them and other 130s when comparing wind deflection. I haven’t had any issues with consistency with the norma’s that come from the same box, but lot to lot consistency seems to be a bit off.

Norma 130 was for a time BC king for 6.5x47 but in my experience variation from box to box was far to much for my liking ,would not recomend it.

Yeah my gun has always shot them well also but i've had some inconsistencies with them. I'm eager to try out the new sierras.
