I have just started working with the DPMS SASS I just got last month, I have found a load with Hornady 168GR. HPBT MATCH bullets, Part #30501, These are shooting 1/2 moa. to 3/4 moa. everytime I shoot them with the new IMR8208BRX powder with 42.5 GR.. I'm only getting 2570FPS. in Winchester NEW cases. I am more than happy with this load and it is well bellow Hogdons max. I am still using the factory trigger, so with a trigger that moves at least four times when squeezed off before the sear breaks, I am sure it would shoot 1/2" or under with a good aftermarket trigger. These are of course 5 shot groups and been repeated 4 times now.

Now what I really want is to get a load that will shoot the 145GR. FMJBT bulk bullets that I bought, (500 count) to shoot under 1" at 100 yards. any suggestions would be big time appreciated. I just want a decent load to play with, the 168's will do anything I want for paper or hunting.

I have a rock river arms with a 1-10 twist barrel . I have been shooting 147 grain fmjbt sitting on top of 42 grains of 3031 and a remington rifle primer . I doubt this is an optimum accuracy load but I had a couple of pounds of the powder to burn up I average 1-1.25 inches at 100 yds . if you try this load please reduce 10% and work up accordingly.

2570 is about the max I was able to get out of mine with a 168, and that was where my accuracy with a 168 was at too.

I tried a few different loads but didn't find anything that was less than an inch at 100, and to be honest I wasn't saving a whole lot using my brass, powder and primers for plinker loads vs. just making all "good" loads. I think it equaled out to 12 cents a round savings.
