This is the part of the 14th Amendment that has been used by one judge to disallow a local government official in Arizona from retaining office.
It was what they are trying to convict Trump of to prevent him from running. It is common knowledge that this section was provided to disallow members of the confederacy from holding office after the Civil War.
Does this mean, by calling the events of Jan 6 an insurrection or rebellion, that they recognize this as a civil war?
Or is that just a coincidence?
